I ordered the Greek Gyro pita, which came with seasoned crispy fries. Excellent meal. The gyro with beef & lamb, tzatziki dressing, tomatoes, and onion. The fries are the best I’ve ever eaten. Crispy outer coating and perfectly seasoned. Service at lunchtime was very good, even though not many people were there this day. I would return if I’m ever in the area again.
My wife had the Chicken Shawarma bowl, and she said the garlic sauce is excellent. Both plates are pictured.

Recently dined at Chickpea, the local Mediterranean joint, and had a bit of a mixed bag experience. The place is a cute, locally-owned spot that offers a decent lunch option in the area.
The waitress was pleasant, although her attention seemed a little divided, spending a good chunk of our meal chatting with a friend on the patio. It would’ve been nice to see her a bit more engaged with the customers.
Now, the food was definitely a highlight. The menu, though somewhat limited, and with a couple of listed items unavailable, still offered some tasty options. I went for the chicken shawarma and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion and delicious flavors. My friend’s salad looked fresh and appetizing, and we shared some baba ghanoush which I had never had a chance to try. The dip was quite good, a new favorite of mine, though they could definitely balance the pita to dip ratio better.
So, the verdict? Chickpea is a nice little lunch spot with some room for improvement. Despite the service glitches and a few menu hiccups, the food is good enough to warrant a return visit. It’s my second time here, and I’m still willing to come back for round three. It’s worth supporting local businesses, and with a little tweaking, Chickpea could be a standout.

Let me start by saying the food was delicious not the best gyro I ever had but delicious. However the problem is I ordered a plain gyro and reiterated that on the phone. Also when I picked up my order from the guy with the curly mustache I also confirmed with him that there was a PLAIN gyro in that bag which he confirmed. I get home and it’s not plain. Normally I wouldn’t care too much but it wasn’t for me so it didn’t get eaten.

Based on previous reviews, we walked in initially thinking you could order at a counter for sit in rather than being served at a table. The people working there didn’t welcome us and had a bit of a surprised look when we walked in.
There were two other tables of people there while we ordered. We ordered before the larger table, but still waited to receive our food until after they received theirs. We were hoping for a bit quicker turnaround but waited over 20 minutes from the time we put in the order.
Despite the service, the food was excellent. We had the falafel wrap and falafel pocket. Both came with deliciously seasoned fries. I would be interested in returning for the food alone.
Street parking is available and was not crowded on a late Saturday evening.

Such a cute place and great food too. We had the chicken shawarma, fattoush salad, and gyro sandwich with sumac fries. And of course, orange blossom lemonade. All were delicious and large servings. The sumac fries were a bit too salty though. Good service and atmosphere on the patio.
A really nice “local” eatery. Highly recommend!!

Excellent halal middle eastern food. (Soon to have Jamaican food). Friendly service. Pépé is very hospitable.
Great quality, generous portions, flavorful at a reasonable price. The orange blossom lemonade stole my heart. Perfectly slightly sweetened, tangy and aromatic.
I would say it is a fusion between authentic middle eastern classics and veggie/rice bowls. Plenty of vegetarian options (grape leaves, hummus, falafel…)

Arrived late afternoon on a Saturday and it seemed to be critically understaffed. The server was harried and frazzled but was clearly doing their best under the circumstances. The food was excellent. The printed menus weren’t especially well organized and rife with errors in the text. The atmosphere was a little odd in that there was bar that was half inside and open to the patio, that wasn’t well integrated into the concept. It felt like two different businesses under the same roof. As mentioned the food was excellent. It was short and limited making it much easier to decide. Portions were just right. The gyros were great, the shawarma was just a little dry but the sauce and veggies made up the difference. Loved the fries. The falafel was top notch and the tahini was unique and delicious on it. I hope the server gets some help. Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely experience. The staff was friendly and the food was good. We thought the prices were reasonable. I enjoyed the veggie platter appetizer which was enough for a main course for me.

First time customer. Upon entering the building, you are surrounded by this amazing aroma of food. You order in a similar fashion as Chipotle. By first stating if you want the chosen food in a pita wrap or bowl. From there, you go down the line and have a variety of options to choose from for toppings and sauces. There were a few times I didn’t know what something was, and he described it and offered a taste sample. The food was great, and there was a lot (I got the chicken Schwarma bowl.) It ended up being three meals worth for me. This is a lovely place, worth a try.
P.S. I was so excited to try everything, I kind of forgot to take a picture of things while they were beautifully plated. Aside from the desserts, everything was eaten upon before I remembered to take pictures. Sorry :S
