Maaaan… I usually leave really positive reviews and I REALLY like Pepperjax, but this order was pretty disappointing 🙁 I do want to clarify the the Doordash deliverer was great, made sure I was me before giving me my food ’cause my apartment’s lay out is goofy.
Anyway, on to the order. I received very few cheese curds, I don’t expect you fill the box but I shouldn’t be able to see that much of the bottom. They were also very burnt/hard, 3 of them were hollow, and there was this very odd (definitely fried) something that I didn’t even attempt to eat. The cheedesteak was a bit better but the green pepper was kinda just thrown on. The slices were thin but quite a few were pretty wide. Taste was good, the meat was a lil more chopped up than usual, could’ve used a lil more cheese, and the end of it is basically just bread.
I’ve ordered from here maybe 3 times before and have absolutely loved it. Never had it before and can say that this place has the BEST cheese curds EVER. So having them at this quality hurts extra bad. I know 2 stars may seem harsh but I’m going to continue to order/get it and may change it over time depending on consistency.
**TLDR: Not a lot of cheese curds and very bad quality, decent tasting cheedesteak but looks sad. Usually love it, very disappointing.

I ordered through door dash and received our order at 8:22pm. I quickly realized that my rice bowl had Jalapeños and pinto beans in it that I did not order and cannot eat. I called the store at 8:30pm and said that I’d be willing to drive to the store to pick up a remade order. I was informed that they were out of rice for the evening because they were closing at 9:30pm (store hours are listed to 10pm) and the rice takes 30 mins to cook.

What happened to this place? The prices have gone way up…the food is still so good though, they make your sandwich right in front of you, so it’s always hot and they make the fries to order so they are definitely served hot but there’s never anyone in here anymore. Because of the homeless population they had to start locking the bathroom so you have to get a key from staff.

Have been a longtime fan of PJ, but they’re going downhill fast. Food quality is declining, they changed their fresh fries to battered frozen fries, and they no longer have condiments or utensils where customers can use them. This location seems perpetually understaffed and is in dire need of deep cleaning.

Chipotle sucks compared to this place. The chicken or steak rice bowls are my favorite. They don’t short-hand you on the meat and it’s for a decent price. I know a lot of people who love Chipotle but I find myself always getting rice and corn with not much else. If you agree try Pepper Jax it’ll knock your socks off.

The Philly is always great. But I don’t know if I will be going back again after tonight. Placed an order online for pickup at 6:40 and didn’t have the order completed until 7:10. There was only 2 people working so I tried giving some grace but when you’re helping walk ins and carry out and the employees aren’t on the same page it makes the waiting even longer. Should’ve just went in and ordered as they helped 5 walk ins before even starting on my order as I was sitting there.
