Had a good experience as a first time.
Went to try the lunch special, and not very surprised.
Food quality was okay, took quite sometime to arrive.
Butter chicken is usually my go to plate when trying any Indian restaurant. The sauce wasn’t creamy and silky as I would like.
Naan was very bland and no taste at all.
Consistency of the food overral was lacking, but not too bad for the price.
The mango lassi was great though a little too sweet.
Maybe I should give another try, with a different dish.

This place was recommended by a worker colleague, and I have to say, it was great experience.
First eating at an Indian restaurant and the food was delicious. I did not even know what I was eating at the time. My girlfriend and I ordered the chicken samosa, and it came with several sides, some pickled vegetable and two sauces. I had to ask our waitress what they were.
We both ended up ordering a different type of curry dish, I got the beef curry, and my girlfriend got the chicken curry. The bread that came with our meal tasted fresh, and our food was cooked beautifully and tasted delicious.
Only downside was both our meals came to a total above $60.
I would highly recommend if you wanted some good Indian food. Definitely going back.

Edit: changing rating to three based on most recent visit. Unfortunately something has happened and they have gone back to old, bad standards it seems. Last time we had a really fresh meal; this time everything tasted old, over spiced, and just not worth the money. The spice was so much, tasted like fake chemicals you couldn’t even eat it. The chicken they put in the butter chicken seemed like leftover chicken from the day before. Was so hard and tasted off. The breads we got this time were ones that were filled. One filled with coconut/nuts: the coconut tasted like dust and had no flavor. Filled with potato: overly spiced and inedible. One filled with lamb: that was not lamb, it was goat and it seemed spoiled. It had a disgusting old ammonia taste to it, and just crumbled.
Not sure if we will try again. It’s expensive when you get food you have to end up throwing away!

Clay Oven has been a favorite of ours for many years, remaining consistently good over the years. Take-out orders are prepared quickly with individual items labeled clearly, and the portions are generous. The location is quite convenient as well, with easy access to 15/270 for those outside of the City to the north and south.

Stopped in last evening for takeout and it’s been a little while since my wife and I have taken out food from here. I walked in and the owners remembered me immediately and they spoke with me for 10 minutes while my order was being prepared. We ordered butter chicken, Aloo Gobi w/beef and naan. We also got a couple of the vegetable samosa’s. Our food was so delicious and my wife and I could not stop talking on how great it was and that we need to get food there more often. This establishment has been there for years, and it never disappoints.

Great local gem. The food is delicious. Robust bold favors and full of traditional Indian spices. Plentiful options of traditional Indian dishes to pick from. Highly recommend the naan. Made fresh to order! so good! The service is prompt, staff is friendly, highly recommend!

So we were not Indian food people. We decided to give Indian Food one more try and found Clay Oven. To say it has changed our mind is an understatement. The food is absolutely delicious, the service is very attentive, and the owner is there and comes to check on the food & service with the customers. Absolutely great experience and delicious food at the same time. Highly recommend and we keep coming back because of how great it is!

We had take out from here. We ordered one lunch special with buttered chicken. The staff told us the lunch special was a smaller portion, but it was more than enough for 1 meals. I also had the tandoori chicken special. Both were delicious and generous in portion. We definitely will be visiting this place again. The staff was very helpful and patient.

Clay Oven has consistently been an all-star spot for good food and attentive service. We have had many fulfilling and enjoyable meals there in the restaurant or at home with a take-out order. I especially love the Beef Korma with a said of Kashmiri naan. Real comfort food.
