So glad we have a Dickey’s BBQ Pit in Whiting! Their brisket and pulled pork are amazing and their sides taste home made. The atmosphere is that of a traditional little hometown restaurant. Order at the counter, seating area is clean, cozy and comfortable. Prices are very reasonable for all you get! There is an option to add an extra portion of meat, 2 for $1 more and for an additional dollar, a third portion. I was shocked to find that they didn’t skimp and give smaller portions. I really hope this place stays in business forever! When I’m hungry for barbecue, Dickey’s will always be my go-to.

10/10 — Absolutely Amazing!
This place blew us away! Everything from the food to the service was perfect. The ribs literally fell off the bone, the chili was packed with flavor, and the BBQ baked beans were the perfect side. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious — especially with a drizzle of their BBQ sauce on top. The brisket was tender, juicy, and full of smoky goodness. And don’t even get me started on the Texas toast — soft, buttery, and downright ooey-gooey perfection. Fast service, friendly staff, and food that hits all the right notes. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The brisket was not cooked right at all. It was pinkish and no smoke flavor or seasoning flavor. Very dry and tough to chew. Will not be returning to this place. Could be an off night but I spent $60 for horrible food. And before you comment on this post (Dickies BBQ Owner) Take this with a grain of salt and maybe do quality control on your food.

I usually settle on a different style of food when I eat out, but I was happy I tried the food here today.
I was able to try some chicken, brisket, chili, mac and cheese, fries, and coleslaw (their coleslaw is the best I’ve had in 10 years, and I eat tons of it!). All of it was very tasty, and all of it was very good quality! The quality part, to me, is the most important part.
The atmosphere is nice and welcoming, and the staff were exceptional. Gary and his son Garrett are who helped me. Both were very nice, and Gary even went way out of his way to make sure my meal wasn’t a disaster by recognizing I was clueless and offering suggestions, then taking good care to make sure the meal was great. He nailed it. Thank you, Gary!

We always saw the place and kept saying we have to go there and we have to go there and we finally did – it is one of the best barbecues we ate… My husband is a barbecue snob and he loved loved loved loved it..! Because I am originally Eastern European I was hesitating to Polish sausage sandwich, because they can never compare with those original ones from Europe. But on the end I said let’s try it and it would be a big mistake if I wouldn’t – it was THE best Polish sausage I ate in the last 25 years living here in the US. The owner and his son were incredibly accommodating, The place was very inviting, it has a cool vibe and it was especially clean..! They offer us to try ribs and that’s what is going to be definitely on our plate during our next visit. It is one of the best barbecues we are 100% recommending it..!!!

i ordered thru uber eats an i have to say it’s really good! turkey great, chicken amazing and the brisket is also really good. i had a hard time ordering extra comeback sauce so i called an they told me they were out but to my surprise this amazing person named Bonnie made some fresh! she is fantastic thank you so much, i was confused on how i had a few comeback sauces until i noticed the receipt. again thank you an i definitely will comeback

We were sad to learn sbout a recent fire they had and the high possibility it wont get rebuilt at all or anytime soon.
The positive was we were approached by a man who said hes the site maintenance manager and hes letting everyone know about a place in toms river called Harry’s smokin bbq.
We were skeptical but went.
We told them we were dickeys customers they gave us out menus and seating and Harry the owner came to our table and said he was glad to see dickeys customers coming in frequently and he hopes the situation with dickeys gets resolved that the business can reopen but until then hes happy to accommodate everything from sit down, catering and take out.
We were blown away how good everything was. The servers, taste and how spotless it was.
