Social Profile:

In the heart of a big city, driven by progress, Heritage Grand BAKERY turns to tradition, offering New Yorkers a bread baked for a better future. We value quality, health and tradition. The concept was born from the expression “you are what you eat”. Natural, artisanal foods nourish our minds and bodies, energize our spirit and connect us all to each other and our planet. We celebrate the simple joy of eating what is truly good. Our Heritage grains are healthier because we practice time-honored methods of milling flour without chemical additives. This tradition, and technique, using unadulterated ingredients, retains more nutrients, and does not deposit unsafe chemicals into our environment. Visit our sister Restaurant next door.

I visit here fairly often, and it’s consistently a great experience.
The staff are always friendly, and the pastries are excellent.

My personal favorites are the chocolate éclair and the mille-feuille.
The croffin is also very good, and honestly, most items I’ve tried here have been solid. You can tell there’s care put into both quality and presentation.

The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable, which makes it an easy place to recommend to friends when they’re visiting the area.

I especially want to mention that when I stopped by on Wednesday, 2/25, around 3 PM, the person working at the counter was incredibly kind and welcoming. Small moments like that really make a difference, so thank you.

Highly recommended.

Heritage Grand Bakery is a French patisserie with an appetizing array of pastries to tempt passersby and customers. I have been tempted several times and find it hard to resist. The selection of breads are toothsome and also nicely priced as in the evenings I have bought half loaves for just about $5 each. The croissants are flaky and buttery. Sugar cookies in packets are loafed with flavor. Coffee is also good. This morning I picked up a cinnamon roll and it was perfect as it was flaky and the icing on top had solidified so it wasn’t running down my fingers. Caitlyn and Rafael have helped me a few times. Lunch sandwiches, salads, fresh orange juice and pizzas are also offered here. Located near the public library and on a block that has several cafes and restaurants, Heritage Grand Bakery is the one place that is a must visit and eat spot.

Heritage Grand Bakery is a warm, inviting spot that blends classic bakery charm with high-quality craftsmanship. The moment you walk in, you’re met with the comforting scent of fresh bread and pastries baking. Their selection is impressive—flaky croissants, beautifully crafted cakes, and hearty loaves that taste as good as they look. Everything feels fresh, intentional, and made with care. Whether you’re grabbing a quick treat or picking up something special, Heritage Grand Bakery is a delightful stop that never disappoints. It was very expensive though.

If i could give minus 5 stars i would have done it.

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the treatment I received during my recent pickup at Heritage Grand Bakery on [date], around 6:57 p.m.

When I arrived to pick up my order placed through Too Good To Go, the employee told me to wait three minutes in a very mean tone, despite there being no line and the staff casually talking to each other. The bakery was clearly not busy at all. I waited the three minutes as requested.

After that, he brought the bags from the counter to a space next to the door. I told him that the three-minute wait was unnecessary and that he could have simply handed me the bags directly.

As I was talking to him, he suddenly opened the door and told me that i can leave. When I told him this was unprofessional, he replied, “If you don’t like it, don’t come back here,” speaking as if he owned the place. ( please check the cameras you have in store and you will hear him saying these words to me )

When I returned to the counter to ask for his name, he told a colleague, “Ignore him, he is just a Too Good To Go customer.” (Please note, if you have cameras in the store, you can verify everything I am telling you.)

He then claimed to be the manager and came back to talk to me shrugging his shoulders but refused to give me his name after looking at me in a very nasty way and that s where i lost my temper, the he disappeared to the back, and did not address my concerns further. The other employees present refused to face or talk to me when I tried to engage them, dismissing my requests. One employee even said he didn’t know the manager’s name, while others completely ignored me.

This behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I paid for my order and expected to be treated with respect and courtesy. I have also seen multiple reviews online that mention similar issues with rude behavior from the same employee.

I have a video recording of the interaction to support my complaint and would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.

Whenever I find myself in New York City, I make sure to visit this French bakery. They have an incredible selection of pastries and cakes, and they even have a small seating area where you can enjoy your treats. The ambiance is fantastic, making it a must-visit destination.

Such a great place to grab something sweet! The canelé was the best I’ve had in years — absolutely delicious. Great variety of pastries and super friendly service. Totally worth stopping by and trying everything!

Cosy cafe opposite Bryant Park offering fresh pastries.

I was honestly spoilt for choice.

I purchased a pistachio croissant and noticed a dusty string-like substance inside. The color also looked very unnatural. I almost ate it, but thankfully I noticed it before putting it in my mouth.

I went back to the store and requested a refund, but I haven’t received it yet. One staff member said it was probably just dust, while the manager mentioned it might have gotten in during the baking process. Either way, this is clearly not something customers should be expected to eat.

I’m very concerned about the food quality and hygiene, and I believe a full refund is necessary.

I was slightly disappointed on our visit when we stopped off to get a hot drink & pastry after our free yoga session in Bryant Park next to the Bakery.
The window display and store front looks amazing and immediately drew us in. My wife had a delicious latte, I had a tea and we both had an almond croissant. The crossaint wasn’t as light & there wasn’t much almond paste inside as many we’ve had in England. I was also given an Earl Grey tea instead of the English Breakfast tea that I ordered, however, I didn’t bother to ask for it to be replaced.
I was disappointed with the quality of the almond croissant, especially as they were $6 each and baked in their in-store bakery at the back of the shop, which you can see into from some seats at a counter where we ate our food and drank our hot drinks However, I’m prepared to give them another try as we’ve a few more free yoga sessions booked in Bryant Park during our visit to NYC

I want to start by acknowledging that Heritage Bakery offers fantastic products, and they definitely have the best coffee in town. However, I’ve reached my limit with the quality of service when it comes to my large latte. I consistently find myself paying for a large latte and receiving a drink that falls far short of what it’s expected to be. If there isn’t a significant amount of foam, they don’t fill the cup correctly. It’s frustrating to consistently end up with only half a cup of coffee. A latte isn’t supposed to be overloaded with foam like a cappuccino; the milk needs to be topped.

Additionally, I tried their “new” hummus wrap, but it missed the mark entirely. If it’s advertised as a hummus vegetable wrap, there should absolutely be a trace of hummus in it. Instead, I received just a mix of peppers, onions, and cucumbers. This isn’t acceptable. If it wasn’t because I don’t have time, I would take it back, because this (coffee) happens all the time, and honestly, as much as I enjoy the coffee, I’m just fed up
