We finally got a chance to try out Flippers on our last in Hobart for dinner. We got there around 6pm on a Saturday night.
A little bit of a line up but they are super efficient at getting through the orders. It came up in about 10 minutes.
We ordered the Family Meal Deal for $48. 2 battered flake, 4 calamari rings, 4 potato cakes and large chips.
All super fresh and cooked extremely well.
There is the opportunity to shake sea or chicken salt and apply vinegar at the seperate pick up window.
You may have to duck down to order and pick up depending on the tide height – all part of the experience.
There are plenty of seating options nearby to enjoy the deep fried bounty.

Love their battered trevalla, always freshly made, crunchy outside and juicy inside. Recommend to order the tartar sauce as well, goes very well with the fish. It is a take away only business with some benches available for sitting around that area.

First time:
– Trevalla + Chips – crumbed: 8.5/10 (too dry for my liking)
– Whitting + Chips – crumbed: 10/10 (hoorayyy ~~, juicy, yummy, sweet, just the right amount of crunch, i used chicken salt)
Second time:
– Whitting + Chips – crumbed: 8.5/10 (idk why but the fish tasted less yummy than the first time, maybe because we had ice cream beforehand ☹️)
Service: 10/10 (we like the speaker )

We bought the fish n chip of the day as recommended on a piece of paper stuck at the order counter. 18 bucks and plus 2.5 for a little box of tartar sauce.

Top quality seafood can be found at Constitution Dock. Plenty of options available with a number of vendors there. I chose Flippers and grabbed their package of Deep Fried seafood goodness. Cooked to perfection and on a crisp and chilly afternoon it topped a perfect afternoon.
