We had an outstanding Valentine’s Day dinner at the chefs counter! The staff were friendly, incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, and had great recommendations. The food is fine dining, but the atmosphere is hip and exciting. No wonder chefs eat here. The standouts for us was the crudo (the absolute perfect balanced bite) and duck (the best we’ve ever had). Our oysters, scallops, and mixed drinks were also quite impressive. The attention to details and highlighting unique special ingredients was impressive. Who knew bamboo rice was so spectacular. Definitely our new favorite special occasion restaurant! We cant wait to come back and try all the other amazing dishes we saw being made from the counter.

Little has the best lamb I have ever had. And the Best duck.
Fort Collins has many restaurants, some good, a few great, but Little is the only legitimately high-end dining experience in town.
This is not quite as fine dining experience as Chimney Park in Windsor (which I dearly hope returns after their tragic fire), or a restaurant like The Wolf’s Tailor near Denver, but it isn’t a contest. I just want a very nice experience with some very nice food that feels special, and you definitely get that at Little.

I took my son here for brunch this morning. Everything was very good. I had an apple breakfast roll and my son had a bone marrow hamburger. Service was very good. Nice vibe and background music. Parking was a bit of a challenge but otherwise good experience.

This is a perfect place to celebrate an anniversary or birthday or first date. Menu is small and straight forward. The pumpkin lobster bisque is fabulous. 2 thumbs up for duck as well. Im sure there is not an item on the menu that’s not fabulous. Service is amazing, the wait staff really knows the menu and how things are prepared. Mixed drinks are top notch and they use local distillery brands. I really love this little gem.

Amazing restaurant in Fort Collins. We sat in the kitchen for one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. An absolute must if you’re visiting the area.

This is our favorite restaurant in Fort Collins. The meal was outstanding from start to finish, and our server, Jake, was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive.

The beef cheek ragu pappardelle was rich and comforting. The scallops crudo was fresh and beautifully balanced. The lamb was perfectly cooked. The farmer’s greens salad with mimolette was unexpectedly memorable.

Wine selection, cocktails, and mocktails were all excellent. Consistently great food, great service, and a place we happily return to.

We’ve had our eye on Little on Mountain since we moved here last spring, and we finally made it for our anniversary last night. On balance, it was a lovely evening — creative cocktails, excellent service, a relaxed vibe, and some genuinely beautiful food. We’ll be back, with a few hopes for the future.
The highlights were real: a gorgeous grilled baguette with salt-dusted butter, a beet salad over curry yogurt with a quinoa-seed crumble, and a second salad with marcona almonds, delicata squash and mimolette that was flat-out excellent. Dessert was delicious, the cocktails were inventive and well-made, and our server kept the whole evening feeling easy and attentive.
A couple of things worth knowing. We booked the Chef’s Counter expecting a front-row seat to the kitchen — what we got was a front-row seat to the dishwashing station. Fascinating in its own way, but not quite what we had in mind.
More importantly for some diners: we’re vegetarian, and the single vegetarian entree among nine options — Foco Vegetables — felt like an afterthought. What arrived was a generous heap of beets (we’d already had plenty of beets), a few scraps of what seemed like prep trimmings from other dishes, and so much chèvre that the promised harissa was essentially invisible. After a meal that had been so carefully executed, it was a jarring contrast. When we shared this with our server, he offered to remove it from the bill, which was kind. What we were hoping for was a little more genuine engagement with the feedback — a sense that it actually landed.
The evening ended with an unfamiliar staff member arriving with the check and letting us know, after two hours, that they needed the table. Not the sendoff we were hoping for after an anniversary dinner.
Little on Mountain makes some excellent food. We’d love to see that talent turned toward some vegetarian fare that feels thoughtfully composed rather than assembled. It’s clear this is a truly special restaurant that could up its plant-based game.

This place is the absolute BEST! It’s such a little treat to have in Fort Collins. From the food, to the service to the surroundings, it’s unique and just so fun. Last time I went, my husband and I sat at the bar and we basically had entertainment the entire time. We were so fascinated by all the kitchen action and how good they are at what they do. Just incredible. I can’t recommend it enough!

little on mountain was easily the highlight of our stint in Fort Collins. We did the chefs counter which I highly recommend – the service was incredibly attentive and watching the chefs work is fun. Everything we received from oysters, to soup, salad, the duck, and finally dessert was delicious. The restaurant itself is well decorated with an inviting atmosphere. Amazing place to grab a higher end dinner in the area.

I’m clearly in the minority here, but I was underwhelmed. The cocktails were good. I had the duck, which was fine, but nothing special. My wife had scallops which again were fine, but nothing special. Service was fine. While it’s expensive, that’s really not the issue for me — I’ve spent twice as much on a meal and enjoyed it much more. And if this were half the price, I still wouldn’t return because I just didn’t think it was very good.
