got our drinks in about 10 minutes. The tai tea was good could be a tad sweeter though. Daughter ordered dragonfruit green tea, it was sweet but just the right amount of sweetness.
Over an hour later still no food….
Because it’s open kitchen we can see the cooks. I saw an older man south his hair net partially on and he licked his fingers to grab a liner for a meal he was plating.
An hour and a half later still no food. But they made us think we were getting food as they brought our Pho veggies .
Hubby asked for lemonade refill and never got it.
After we got our food, he never checked on us to see how everything was tasting or how everything was doing. We came in at 6:15 and I’m here writing this review still sitting trying to eat my food and it is now 8:24 PM.
So the pho is tasty and not to sodium tasting like is common of other pho spots I have been too.
Will come again when the new hype dies down a bit and they get more servers and some with experience. Oh and hopefully this review get to the kitchen manger on proper kitchen etiquette and cleanliness..
Update- 3/1/26
Second time here and I have to increase the score. Alex our server was attentive, and informative. Also the pace of the food was good. From the apps to the mains. The food was definitely tasty.. But the Thai tea not so much. The coconut milk tea was delicious.
Definitely give them a try we will continue to come here and hope To one day give it 5 stars.
The atmosphere is perfectly complemented by smooth jazz music playing softly in the background, allowing for comfortable conversation and a relaxed dining experience. The kitchen is visible through a glass wall, which conveys transparency and confidence in cleanliness and preparation.
I highly recommend this restaurant without hesitation, and we will certainly be returning regularly.
From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The restaurant has a beautiful Vietnamese-inspired design that feels modern but still authentic. The layout is thoughtful, inviting, and just really well done. We were seated quickly and greeted with water right away.
The menu is extensive in the best way possible, so many great options that it’s genuinely hard to choose because everything looks amazing. For starters, we ordered the gyoza and spring rolls. Both were made fresh and were outstanding. I’ve had gyoza all over the place, and I can honestly say these were some of the best I’ve ever had, incredibly crispy and full of flavor.
I also ordered the Bánh xèo, and wow. It was huge (which I loved), packed with fresh vegetables, fragrant mint, and paired with an excellent fish sauce, this is exactly how fish sauce should be done.
And the pho? Absolutely nailed it. Rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. Bravo.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Ki (hope I spelled that right). He was incredibly kind and welcoming, and we made sure to thank him personally for such a great experience.
We will absolutely be back. If you’re in the Lake Nona area and love Vietnamese food, or want to experience it done right, don’t pass up City Pho. It’s that good.
2nd time: Had fried rice, chicken skewer, coconut shrimp, fresh shrimp roll, and a lychee tea
