Ristorante La Voglia di Genova is an excellent place for authentic Genoese food. The atmosphere is warm and elegant, with a relaxed charm that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Service is attentive and friendly without being intrusive.
The food captures the true flavors of Liguria. The pesto alla genovese is exceptional, made with fresh basil and the right balance of olive oil and Parmigiano. Seafood dishes reflect the city’s maritime tradition. Almost every item on the menu has a gluten-free version, prepared with the same quality and attention to detail. What stands out is that almost every item on the menu has a gluten-free version, and the quality remains just as high. It is rare to find this level of flexibility without any compromise in taste or presentation.
A perfect spot for both locals and visitors who appreciate genuine Genoese cuisine and thoughtful hospitality.

Vegetarian perspective

Wow….one of best meals of the trip, visiting a friend who lives in Genova. Ligurian place with all the local specialties, elevated. Plenty of vegetarian pasta options. Every course was delicious, we all left overly full!

I had the pleasure of experiencing authentic Genovese cuisine at this hidden gem. My favorite dish was the Cappon Magro, a layered tower of vegetables and seafood, which I had never seen in North America. The combination of fresh ingredients, vibrant flavors, and the presentation was simply exquisite.

We also enjoyed other delicious dishes, such as Burrida (Genovese seafood soup) and rabbit meat. I highly recommend this place to anyone who’s seeking an authentic Genovese cuisine. It’s a perfect place for those who like to try local flavors.

Best restaurant in Genoa! My husband and I were wandering around the old center of Genoa, looking for a place to eat, and we found this cute restaurant. Amazing homemade food! We were delighted by the food, the place, and mostly by Maurizio and Enrica. They are adorable, and they make the experience even better!

Very good food. We had Ravioli with pesto, homemade pasta with mushroom souce and Tiramisu.
The place is also very nice
Ps: It’s better if you call to make a reservation.

Very cozy and pleasant experience. The owners are extremely kind and friendly and surely they know their job. We had lunch outdoor but I am sure we would have enjoyed inside as well, as the indoor part is very nice too. We had “primo” “secondo” and “dolce”, all more than delicious in their own way. It is not often to find so balanced and delicious dishes. We really enjoyed and look forward to returning back!

A cosy restaurant made more homely and comforting by the hospitality from the owners and staff. They were extremely nice and accomodating to us, a pair of small asian eaters, and helped to split the portions for us to share (very generous too). The food was buonissimo! Ordered the fried octopus, as we saw every table having it, and we were mind blown. The other dishes were like nothing we have ever tasted in Italian restaurants in Singapore which made the experience more unique and special!

The best pesto i have ever had, even though they do not speak english, communication is nice and the crew is very friendly. But be aware that if you order Beer you will get a 0,75l bottle. The ambiente is astonishing outside, hidden on a small path and plaza.

Best restaurant we ate at on our honeymoon in Italy. The pasta was expertly prepared. I had the cod ravioli with butter and chives, and she had the gluten free pasta with walnut filling.. she literally cried with joy.
The main dishes of the seafood stew and the rabbit were both excellent. It was delightful to try traditional cuisines from the area. We really felt like we were eating regional dishes that had heart and soul put into them. The owner was conversing with people at each table and you could tell he’s very passionate about serving quality food.
Amazing dining experience.

1. Directions; you need to head up the alleyway (it’s not on the main street). 2. Excellent! Full 5 stars from beginning to end. Chef is around and does recommendations in Italian (don’t worry about English – just take it!). What a meal. You can sit inside or outside (small plaza just prior to the restaurante). Fantastic food.
