From the moment we arrived, we were treated to impeccable service and breathtaking views. The restaurant features a fantastic open-concept kitchen, which adds a great atmosphere. We started with the delicious prawn appetizer, followed by the lamb, and finished with an absolutely excellent dessert. Highly recommend this spot for a great overall experience!

It was a very strange experience at The Grill. We came to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant is beautiful and everyone is smiling. They brought us warm, crusty bread with butter, which was delicious. We were given samples of the soup of the day since we were unsure about ordering it. The soup was very onion forward, definitely an acquired taste, but it was thoughtful that they offered samples.

Our server recommended her favorites, the beef tenderloin and the curry cabbage (my husband is vegetarian). We had planned to order other dishes, but we went with “this is phenomenally good” and “this is my absolute favorite.” The meat was cooked properly, but it was very oversalted. Even the unsalted chimichurri and potatoes could not fix it. The cabbage was bitter. Then came dessert, which was basically fat and sugar. No interesting flavor, no joy. I wiped the grease off my lips and refused to eat it.

They gave us a 20 percent discount and removed the dessert from the check, but that was small comfort because I left hungry and disappointed.

Maybe I just got unlucky with the dishes I chose. I would come back for drinks, the place is very pleasant, but I would not eat here again.

The Grill at Sage Lodge is truly our favorite restaurant! We have frequented Sage of years, and every visit is memorable thanks to the outstanding team. We especially want to recognize Mandy, who is hands-down the best server we’ve ever had. Her warm personality, attention to detail, and incredible ability to suggest perfect wine pairings always elevate our dining experience. She consistently delivers impeccable service and makes us feel like valued guests.

We also want to give a big shout-out to Chelley, the manager. She runs a fantastic team and always ensures everything is top-notch. You can tell she cares deeply about creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.

If you’re looking for exceptional food, service, and hospitality, The Grill at Sage Lodge is unbeatable.

I got the Montana One Pot and it was great. Our server was top-notch. The potatoes were embarrassingly bland. The pie was nothing special. I’m not sure the meal has enough wow factor for the price but the atmosphere is great.

So so impressed with the Easter Brunch I just had. Was worth every penny, & the collard greens were so flavorful, as was every other dish on the buffet. My server Mawadda was the cherry on top & was as sweet as can be (give that lil lady a raise!).
Hope to come back for more memorable meals as this one was top tier

Chef Jackie and her team are beyond amazing. Highly recommend the chefs tasting with experience at the counter and of course with pairings. I’m a foodie. And Sage is my go to when I’m home in MT. I love the rotation in the menu, she customizes it as well. You can add to it as you wish….. if you haven’t had it splurge on the A5 sashimi.

Every time I come by for dinner, alone or with a guest, I am treated phenomenally well. Every staff member is on point. They even make excellent mocktails for those that don’t drink.

I look forward to treating myself to the elegance of Sage at least quarterly for the rotation of the chefs menu.

It’s a place that serves elevated dining in a rustic elegant setting, come in jeans or Louboutins (as I prefer)

It is expensive but it is worth it. Sage The Grill is not for those seeking a casual moderate price quick meal. I feel most the reviews here do not understand the pace and style of The Grill. I’ve enjoyed a meal here at least 6-8 times and every time gets better.

This place is breathtaking!

Both the lodge and the restaurant “The Grill” have the most amazing views and truly look the part of a luxury mountain lodge
The design of the restaurant was great with the open fire grill featured prominently in the center of the room to show the Montana beef steaks and meats on the grill.

The drinks and the food was amazing, coupled with astounding service in an idyllic location is all you can ask for. The ribeye was delicious and the open fire cherry wood gave it a very special flavor.
This is definitely a high-end restaurant and the prices reflect that but it’s truly an amazing dining experience worth every penny.

We arrived with no reservations. The hostess was pleasant and fit us in with a nice table outside. Great atmosphere and the view is beautiful. Our food choices were fantastic. Jay our server was wonderful. And the sunset over the mountains caused diners to leave their tables for photos outside. I would recommend.

There isn’t an inch of this establishment that falls under 5 starts! It’s been almost a year since I stayed at Sage Lodge and I can still envision the evening we had at The Grill. Their steaks are just divine. And the view . It was chili but they had patio heaters. The view is what sold me. A sunset view at The Grill is pure heavenly! Don’t get me started on their lavender bread and butter.
