Food was delicious. I had the pork chops and my wife had the chicken breast both of us were delighted. We are truck drivers and have to eat all over this country; this place was one of the good ones. Our waitress, sweet young lady, did a fabulous job. We would recommend, if you’re headed through there stop and see for yourself. It’ll be well worth it.

Loved this place! We were traveling through going from IA to AZ and Sharon Springs was along our route and we arrived at dinner time around 6pm. The outside looked a little sketchy and in the parking lot behind the restaurant was a shiny new diner which we easily could have gone to. After reading a few reviews here on Google we decided to try Stephen’s instead and were all very glad we did. We sat ourselves and immediately the waiter was there to take our drink order and welcome us to the restaurant. The first thing we noticed as we sat there looking at the menu was how clean the place was. For a small country town you never know, but this place was spotless. All the employees in the kitchen had hair nets on and we also noticed they all were wearing gloves which was surprising to see. All of us ordered either the chicken fried steak or the chicken fried chicken. The mean prices were under $10 and the portions were HUGE. The chicken fried steak was amazing. House made batter, amazing mashed potatoes that were REAL, not the fake out of the box stuff and you have to get the roll which was also homemade. Everything exceeded our expectations and we all left with full stomachs to continue our road trip. Also dont forget to have a piece of pie. I had the apple pie and it was excellent as well. They do accept credit cards which was great as well. I highly recommend going to Stephen’s if your passing through the area!

Phenomenal! Just had the hot roast beef over toast with mashed potatoes and gravy with the vanilla brandy bread pudding for desert. Everything was 10/10 but that bread pudding is something I’ll be craving for a long time. Gonna try to get a piece back to my wife in Alabama but I don’t know if it’ll make it past breakfast tomorrow! 😉
I’m a truck driver and have eaten all over this country and this is one of the best spots I’ve found! GO EAT HERE NOW!!!!
P.S. To all my trucker brothers and sisters reading this, they have enough truck parking for well over a dozen trucks and are cool with you parking overnight. Gravel lot, reasonably well maintained.

We had chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak, both were good and the service was welcoming. Mashed potatoes (real, not boxed) and baked potato were good, corn was the only thing holding it back, straight from the can. Definitely a good meal in the middle of a desolate are.

This restaurant had the distinction of being exactly half way between my son in Colorado Springs and me in Russell Kansas. We met there for lunch. The people were friendly and the food was good. Not usually a “destination” restaurant, but I’ve got no complaints.

Chili was great and server was great, that’s all. Buddy and I ordered ribeyes. 10 minutes after order they said they only had one for the day. I switched to NY steak. Both were over cooked and burnt on one side. Neither of us could finish them. Neither bake potato was warm enough to melt the butter. I guess we should have stuck with simple food such as burger and fries.
