This is not a Tex-Mex place (I do like those places too), so don’t expect it when you come in.
Coffee is instant and costs $3.25. Chorizo and egg taco was not hot.
I would still eat here again because the positives made up for the negatives but no coffee next time if I have to make it myself.
This place has been on my list of places to try for a couple of years. I always get street tacos at these places but decided to try a burrito that my daughter had tried at a similar place. I mean…how could I go wrong with an Al Pastor Burrito right? And of course I had to have chips & salsa.
When the cashier gave me my total, I almost choked. OVER TWENTY DOLLARS??? Are you kidding me? I don’t mind paying for good food but sheesh!
The chips & 2 salsas were delivered to me quickly and I have to say, “They were the best I’ve had in this area!” The green Verde and the red were both excellent. The red was very different from what typical Mexican joints serve. Kudos on those but…then the burrito came.
I took a bite and all I tasted was refried beans. I figured I would hit the meat spot at some point but that never came. Bite after begrudging bite of bland refried beans filling my taste buds. If there were two scraps of meat in this thing I’d be surprised. I mean Taco Bell can do better than this! It was a giant squishy bean burrito. No flavor. No Al Pastor. It was disappointing to say the least.
So maybe you don’t order burritos at a place that claims to have the best tacos in town. Go figure.
I would definitely go back for the chips & salsa and I might just have to try a taco because the burrito was terrible.
