John Henry’s is a solid spot, especially with its convenient downtown location. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was good overall, and the salad bar had a surprisingly wide selection. The menu offers plenty of variety. I ordered the duck with cherry glaze, which was cooked just right. The Brussels sprouts were crispy and full of flavor, and the zucchini fries and fried green tomatoes made great appetizers.

This place is so cute! We had an amazing waitress who made sure we were okay the entire time, and would chat with us from time to time. The prices are great when it comes to the portion sizes. I had the BBQ Mac and Cheese and it was delicious, my partner had the Soup and Salad bar. If you’re looking for an amazing salad bar, this is the place to go!

Ate dinner here on Friday, 19 September 2025. I thought the steak was seasoned better than Texas Roadhouse. My husband & I split a 12oz NY strip, which came with 1 side. We added another side & 2 salad bars. Meal came to around $55, which is very reasonable.
We got there about 6:00 pm. They had a good crowd, but it wasn’t packed.
Justin was very attentive & was a great server. We will definitely be back.

We visited on a Friday evening. We had a large party but only had a short wait. Decent craft beer selection. I had A night on Ponce by 3 Taverns Brewing. It was a 32 oz pour served in a mason jar. That glass was a little odd and honestly the beer was a little warm by the end. Dinner was good. The salad bar was awesome and I had the brisket tacos. They were very good. Service and atmosphere was good. We would definitely come back.

What an absolutely delicious find! A great atmosphere, friendly staff, and WONDERFULLY AMAZING FOOD! The John Henry pizza was fantastic! Not a very big pizza, but it was quite filling and tasty! Their cornbread is so moist and delicious! Everyone in our group was VERY PLEASED with their meals. It is located in downtown Rome so it can be tricky to find a parking spot so do be aware of that, but even if you do have to park a little bit away, you still get to stroll through the lovely downtown area!

Last night, we had the pleasure of dining at John Henry’s Grill, and everything from start to finish was truly exceptional. The atmosphere was inviting and upscale, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was absolutely top-notch—definitely 5-star worthy!
I started with the watermelon mule, and it was spot on—refreshing, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For appetizers, the jalapeño cornbread and crispy Brussels sprouts stole the show. Both were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection.
If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend John Henry’s Grill. We’ll definitely be back!

My friend came up to visit and we needed a quick bite for lunch and I must say this cute restaurant did not disappoint. From the time we arrived until we left, we were treated AMAZINGLY. the decor and ambience was so adorable and the food was top tier. My daughter RAVED about the brisket tacos while I had the Buffalo jumbo shrimp which were phenomenal. The food came out SUPER FAST and was hot, fresh and so delicious! My cocktail was also amazing! Now, service is super important so let’s talk about how absolutely AMAZING Our service was from Gray. He was attentive, checked on us multiple times, and made great suggestions. 10 out if 10! I cannot wait to come back.

Food and drinks were very good, fairly priced too! But the service was awful. Host sat us down and then we waited at least 25-30 mins before our waitress finally noticed us and took our drink orders. She did however quickly bring us complimentary cornbread which was delicious and our appetizer took barely any time at all to come out. She did disappear again after this which made us wait even longer to order and then wait for our food. The rest of the meal went smoothly but there was no one to be found when waiting for the check. Other tables had been neglected too. Overall not bad but could be better.
