Don’t judge a book by its cover—the modest décor doesn’t reflect the quality of the food or service.
The complimentary crisps (papadums?) were a lovely touch to start the meal.
We ordered the Fish Pakora, naan, and two mains—Chicken Navaratna Korma and Beef Lababdar (medium heat)—with basmati rice. Every dish was excellent.
The fish was perfectly spiced, crisp on the outside and moist inside, with no fishy aftertaste.
The korma featured a silky-smooth cashew sauce, gently sweet with subtle notes of cardamom.
The Navaratna delivered an intense garam masala profile in a rich, creamy sauce with a slight sweetness that balanced the spices beautifully.
I highly recommend this restaurant and will return again should I find myself looking for an eatery while in Cranbrook.

Amazing authentic Indian food, very polite and friendly staff. Had a very nice chat with Chef Dinesh, he made us some delicious chicken thupka (soupy noodles). Kudos to the team.

One of the best Indian foods we’ve ever had! We ordered the classic butter chicken, mango coconut chicken and Nepalese momo dumplings. Everything was absolutely delicious and our waiter was attentive. Highly recommend coming here and trying this place!

Delicious food, not at all crowded, kind service. Waitress was patient and helped me understand what was in some of the sauces. Party going on in the attached room, but it was some fun Indian music playing. Worth a visit for sure!

The Bay Leaf is easily one of the best places to eat in Creston. The food is incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and consistently delicious. You can tell the kitchen takes real care with every dish. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, and the service is always fast and friendly. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the whole place has a relaxed, comfortable vibe. A true gem in the Creston Valley — highly recommended.

Incredible restaurant with outstanding service. Chef Dinesh personally served our food and provided a few tasty bonus treats that we will definitely order next time we come. Our server Garima was friendly, efficient, and patient explaining the menu. She was exceptionally kind to my son and helpful when asking for suggestions. The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were large, and the prices were reasonable. The Hakke noodles were very spicy (ordered medium) and soooo flavourful. My brother loved the butter chicken and fried rice, and the homemde hot sauce is divine. We were driving through and this place was definitely a hidden gem. I would highly recommend eating here. The staff knows customer service and the chef knows food!!!!
