Hozy’s has been for years one of the area’s best secrets around. Located hidden away in an industrial area inside of ARP (who are renowned worldwide for high performance hardware in the car world) they pack quite a culinary punch well above their weight class.
Everything is truly exceptional, I really like their burgers but they have also amazing salads. And probably one of the best pizzas around when it is on the menu. They usually have some great specials on top of their regular menu. Also really great is their fried chicken and their fish and chips.
I usually come there for lunch which is already great but they take it to a whole other level for dinner. I had some fantastic salmon there, really exquisite, just melting in your mouth. And the tarte tatin for desert (French caramelized apple pie) was just unbelievable.
The staff also is always very friendly and there are some neat technical decorations like camshafts or dragrace distributor setups around.
The only caveat is that it is by now a fairly well known secret and their space is on the small side, so I would recommend a reservation for dinner otherwise there might be a wait.
There is parking but that also fills up especially during normal work hours (it is inside a regular busy factory after all) but you can usually find some street parking.
But definitely a total must if you are in the area, very highly recommended.

I’ll start by saying my wife and I normally enjoy the restaurant. Today for lunch however I tried an item for the first time that was a bit disappointing and misleading on the menu description.

It was the “Grilled Chicken Breast” sandwich. Upon receiving I questioned the server and said I ordered the grilled chicken breast, mine is sliced. He said that’s how it comes. Upon eating it was just dry leathery because when you grill sliced breast, that’s what you end up with. Had the menu said Grilled “Sliced” Chicken Breast, I probably wouldn’t have ordered it. Just a thought for next time printing the menus, or if possible, offer an actual grilled chicken breast.

Also, before reviewing here I tried to email the restaurant on the email listed on YOUR website but it continually bounced back.

Our visit was on Friday. I live out of state, so I had never been to Hozy’s. My friend suggested eating here and when I saw a reservations button on their Google page, I called to see if they are required. They are not, but are recommended. They were able to get us a last minute reservation at our desired time, and when my friend said they could make it earlier, the staff accommodated our earlier seating request. This is all appreciated. Thank you.

Great food as usual. We waited nearly 20 minutes to get served a cocktail after we were seated. I had the flank steak cooked rare. Perfect!

Second time trying Hozy’s Grill. Service was great. Decor was great. Music playing was fantastic. Coffee was good. This was a better experience than the last time I attended the grill. The food was delicious and plentiful servings. I will definitely return in the near future.

A hidden gem in Santa Paula. I was recommended this amazing spot buy a local friend. The location is sort of hidden in an industrial park. I came here for lunch and the menu was robust to say the least. In addition there was also a variety of daily specials. I opted for the Turkey club with onion rings with a side salad. But the decision was not an easy one. The portions were large and everything tasted great. The onion rings were perfectly crisp with amazing flavor. The sandwich was equally delicious. And the side salad was actually made with quality spring mix instead of the standard iceberg lettuce. Overall a fantastic local spot serving up some quality food. The service was great!

I was recently in Santa Paula and joined friends and family at Hozy’s for lunch. I had the Niçoise salad and it was amazing! The seared tuna was so flavorful. The only issue was the staff didn’t come around often enough to refill or get water to the table or to see if we needed anything else. They were all very friendly though and professional. Otherwise a pleasant place to dine.

I ordered the Cowboy rib eye. 70 dollar steak. I had it here before and it was tasty and made just the way I like it. This time not so much. Even though I got the steak medium rare, it was extremely tough and dry. I put half a bottle of A-1 on it and still couldn’t eat it. Picture looks amazing but it was a dry as an old shoe. The waitress was the best and gave her a big tip even though the steak was bad.

We are semi-frequent visitors to our favorite upscale restaurant in Ventura County. In fact, we have introduced in excess of 50 relatives and friends to their facility. Weekly, we await the posting of their dinner menu on Wednesday afternoons to see what’s on the current week’s menu.
This week, they presented a first, at least for us, poached Alaskan halibut. I haven’t tasted a poached fish in a very long time, but remembered immensely enjoying it in my prior life. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED with the presentation at Hozy’s. It was simply terrific.
That’s just another reason to visit this almost hidden gem in Santa Paula.

I’ve eaten breakfast here mostly, but had dinner here for the first time, and Wow!
It was sooo, so good. It was very busy (it was Cruise Night in town) but the hostess accommodated us so sweetly, and our server (wish I had gotten her name) was absolutely on it. She knew the menu well, she suggested specials and was able to communicate in only a way sometime who knows what they’re doing, does. Lol if that makes sense.
Anyhow, I had the Trout Almondine and my sister had the Chicken Fried Steak. We shared the Caesar salad and yes, you can have anchovies added if you want to!!! YUM!!! Who does that anymore?
Can’t wait to go back!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
