Everything is truly exceptional, I really like their burgers but they have also amazing salads. And probably one of the best pizzas around when it is on the menu. They usually have some great specials on top of their regular menu. Also really great is their fried chicken and their fish and chips.
I usually come there for lunch which is already great but they take it to a whole other level for dinner. I had some fantastic salmon there, really exquisite, just melting in your mouth. And the tarte tatin for desert (French caramelized apple pie) was just unbelievable.
The staff also is always very friendly and there are some neat technical decorations like camshafts or dragrace distributor setups around.
The only caveat is that it is by now a fairly well known secret and their space is on the small side, so I would recommend a reservation for dinner otherwise there might be a wait.
There is parking but that also fills up especially during normal work hours (it is inside a regular busy factory after all) but you can usually find some street parking.
But definitely a total must if you are in the area, very highly recommended.
It was the “Grilled Chicken Breast” sandwich. Upon receiving I questioned the server and said I ordered the grilled chicken breast, mine is sliced. He said that’s how it comes. Upon eating it was just dry leathery because when you grill sliced breast, that’s what you end up with. Had the menu said Grilled “Sliced” Chicken Breast, I probably wouldn’t have ordered it. Just a thought for next time printing the menus, or if possible, offer an actual grilled chicken breast.
Also, before reviewing here I tried to email the restaurant on the email listed on YOUR website but it continually bounced back.
This week, they presented a first, at least for us, poached Alaskan halibut. I haven’t tasted a poached fish in a very long time, but remembered immensely enjoying it in my prior life. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED with the presentation at Hozy’s. It was simply terrific.
That’s just another reason to visit this almost hidden gem in Santa Paula.
It was sooo, so good. It was very busy (it was Cruise Night in town) but the hostess accommodated us so sweetly, and our server (wish I had gotten her name) was absolutely on it. She knew the menu well, she suggested specials and was able to communicate in only a way sometime who knows what they’re doing, does. Lol if that makes sense.
Anyhow, I had the Trout Almondine and my sister had the Chicken Fried Steak. We shared the Caesar salad and yes, you can have anchovies added if you want to!!! YUM!!! Who does that anymore?
Can’t wait to go back!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
