The osteria specializes in seafood pasta. Naturally, the pasta is homemade in versions that complement the dish. The portions are sufficiently filling. The appetizers are also of the signature quality. The mixed seafood antipasti, including thinly sliced vegetables, were deep-fried and therefore, overall, less overcooked than usual.
The service has just been trainee and so there were a few lapses—how else are you supposed to learn? So, the bread and pepper we paid for were cleared away before the main course. All in all, though, a successful evening.

Extremely delicious!!! Everyone in my group loved their dinner. It was so good. Fresh, hot, high quality. The server was from Italy and very kind, patient, and helpful with recommending dishes. The only thing we didn’t enjoy were the desserts and the music that sounded like it was from Texas and kind of out of place. Italian music would have been nice and relaxing. I still highly recommend this lovely restaurant! Thank you!

Sensational “Family style” Italian restaurant.
From the moment we entered to the moment we left we felt like honoured guests at a friend’s home. The whole team could not have been friendlier, more accommodating or eager to please us.
On top of this, the food, sensational – al dente pasta – perfectly cooked and seasoned, the filling in my Agnello was magical and Julie’s Carbonara ” one of, if not THE best” we’ve tasted. So Good!
Wines, I am not an expert on Italuan wines but the team went out of their way to find me a particular, older vintage, that went perfectly with our meals.
We loved the whole experience and will definitely be back when in Gent next.
PS – Bookings are essential as we saw at least 10-20 people try to get a walk in and either walk out unfed or have to book and come back for a later time slot.

What an amazing dinner. I was not expecting this. It was a hard day of train travel and to walk around the corner and find this gem was amazing. The food was very well proportioned and delicious. Everything was very fresh. I kept hearing my son (he had the polpo or squid) and husband (he had one of the meat raviolis) moaning how wonderful their dishes were. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a picture quick enough. We also had the caramel panna cotta and a beautiful bottle of red wine. I would highly recommend this restaurant and intend to go back the next time I’m in town.

Very disappointing experience. The restaurant has a good reputation, but it did not live up to it at all. We ordered the Scoglio (seafood pasta) — the seafood was clearly not fresh, and the mussels had a foul smell, which was extremely unpleasant. The pasta itself was undercooked and far too hard. On top of that, the service was poor. Just as we finished our last bite, the server immediately came to clear our plates, making us feel rushed and unwelcome. Definitely not worth the price, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

A cozy restaurant with great service and delicious food. We ordered a meat & cheese plate, entrees, and had space for delicious dessert! I tried the tiramisu with nuts and wow – so good! You may have to make a reservation depending on the season, but they do accept walk-ins!

We had a reservation at 20u30 but arrived 20min early because in Ghent you never know how much traffic it will be. 75% of all the tables were free but we were sent back outside in the freezing cold to wait 20min. Never have we experienced this before in a restaurant.
3 persons from our group ordered carbonara… it was the worst most dry carbonara ever. The pasta was almost raw. The sauce like it came out of the blender.
Between the appetizer and main course was like +1 hour waiting time.

Hands down some of the best Italian food I’ve had. My girlfriend and I went here off a local friend’s recommendation, and must say it was a good one! The hand made pasta was very fresh and flavorful, and the wine, apps, and dessert (tiramisu) were also great.
