The service is excellent! It would be even better if you could offer table service instead of requiring orders at the counter. One staff member is constantly cleaning and keeping the area spotless — really impressive attention to detail!
The food is incredibly fresh and authentic — I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes from the menu!
But in less than 15 minutes it was on my table. It had about 10 items: typical Andhra Dal, another gravy curry, raw banana fry dry curry, Rasam (Pappu Charu during my visit), dessert, Rose Milk, Mango Pickle, Fryms, Chapati, Curd along with of course rice.
I find it filling, satisfactory. Spice levels are ok. They ask if you want ghee, if yes you get few spoons in a small cup.
Ambience is good. Would visit later to explore other dishes.
However, there are a few areas for improvement that would elevate the overall experience. The Punuglu, an Andhra specialty ordered as an appetizer, was unfortunately delivered after our main meal. Furthermore, some pieces of the Punuglu were undercooked, resulting in an unpleasant raw dough taste. Improving the timing of appetizer delivery and ensuring consistent, thorough cooking of all items, especially specialty dishes like the Punuglu, would significantly enhance the quality of the meal.
In summary, Amrutha Vila is a recommended spot for authentic South Indian cuisine, offering great taste and value. With attention to service timing and quality control on all appetizers, it has the potential to be a truly outstanding restaurant.
To make matters worse, the manager, Lohita, completely dismissed my complaint, stating that since we were the only table complaining, the food was fine. This poor service and the manager’s rude, dismissive attitude towards legitimate quality issues demonstrate a serious problem. What was once my go-to spot is now a place I cannot recommend. I have to pay and throw the food.. sad.
We ordered Ghee Karam Dosa and Mysore Bonda – both were amazing. Service is great, atmosphere is pretty good.
Pro tip: They offer complimentary Tea.
Restroom was pretty clean too. We would definitely revisit this place to try more items.
Update:
On our second visit within a week, we ordered Onion Chilli Uttapam and All day vegetarian meals. Both tasted really good with value for money serving proportions. The uttapam could use some added salt in the batter and deep fry the onions to top them off. Overall a very tasty experience! Highly recommended
The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable.
This is a must-visit spot for anyone who truly appreciates authentic, well-made food.
Highly recommended, and we can’t wait to return!
