A taste of Punjab in the heart of Rotterdam. Small menu but checks all the boxes. The chai is great and freshmade. Surprisingly, the paneer is too. I don’t know the last time I was at a restaurant that made their own paneer. It follows that the paneer sandwich is to die for.
I didn’t get the rasmalai but got a picture of some being prepared. Great stuff.

I recently came across 55 Bombay Street, and it truly feels authentic. It’s a simple, no-frills spot where the focus is completely on real Indian flavors. They have so many options – from Indian street food to traditional sweets and kadi pakora – and everything on display looked absolutely amazing and freshly prepared.
I personally tried the paneer sandwich and chai. The sandwich was full of flavor, and the chai instantly made me feel like I was back in India – that perfect aroma and comforting taste you just can’t miss. Even though I didn’t try the other dishes this time, the variety and the curry looked so tempting that I’ll definitely be going back.
Hats off to the two ladies managing everything by themselves. They handle it all so smoothly and are always polite and courteous. Their warmth and the homely vibe make the whole experience even more special.
Vegan and vegeterian people will love it

The samosas were freshly made and served hot along with various chutneys and sauces making it a savoury snack. The ladies behind the counter are knowledgeable and super friendly. Would definitely come back again (and again) 😉

Just ordered for delivery the rice and paneer combo. Beware it comes premixed and not separate, looks horrible and not presented at all in an edible manner
Please see photos of the food. When called the restraunt on how we can eat this premixed food and it was supposed to come separate as in the pictures, the restraunt said you need to eat with spoon. That’s it. Horrible experience.
Totally AVOID. Had to get a refund via uber eats as restraunt was rude.

Food is generally tasty, really liked the pani puri a lot. The whole experience depends on who is serving though I guess: since I enjoyed it so much the first evening (Monday), chatting with the owner and all, I went back for some chai the next evening (Tuesday), when she wasn’t there and another server told me rudely that they don’t give out anything anymore because they’re closed (even though it was only 7:45 PM).

I love this place so much. Every time I come here I have to get a Samosa Chaat. The paneer is also a great choice. It’s probably my all time favorite spot in all of Markthal. The flavors and textures are borderline perfect. Plus, the people are always so friendly so that’s always a plus. I’ve been waiting to leave a review the moment I had enough pictures so, finally!

DO NOT LOOK FURTHER! The food at 55 Bombay Street is HEAVEN! The ladies there take good care of us for more than a decade, this stall is one of the rare places that is open since the beginning of the building which says a lot about the quality of their offer! The flavors are rich and humble, also powerful and so comforting! I always pass by for a snack or meal or a smile!
