The good: There were so many good options that it was hard to figure out what to get. Great service by the staff.
The bad: The lobster, shrimp and salmon meal had few shrimp. Also, there’s a 18% grutitudity for eating in.
The review: Overall the meal was good and the service was better. I would definitely come back to try a different item on the menu.

In a word No. The other review about the ox tail being extremely fatty is very accurate. I wish I had listened and not ordered from this place. The beef patty was weird to say the least and just not good. None of it was good actually. The rice and beans was the real edible part and barely edible. Find a different restaurant to order from is what I recommend.

I’m a truck driver and it’s hard to find good food on the road. I used to pass by this place many times when I lived down here but I always had my ex wife to cook at home so I never tried it. Well I’m back in town for a few days and been ordering the pasta non stop. Whoever is making this pasta should be charged with assault on the taste buds. The flavor is so rich and it’s cooked to perfection.

My go-to is always the jerk chicken with rice and peas, but this time I added some Thai wings on the side — and let me tell you, they were mind-blowing. The sauce wasn’t runny at all; it stuck perfectly to the wings and even to my fingertips. They were that good. And this was a DoorDash order! I usually pick up my food. My food came fresh and still warm. Honestly, 10 out of 10.

I tried this restaurant for the 1st time & it didn’t disappoint at all. The food was good the presentation on the plate was nice as well. The only issue was the 18% gratuity was a bit much for 3 people dining in. Our tab was almost $100. No one ate oxtails either… ($98 & some change) Usually it’s added to party of 5 or more people. In most restaurants I’ve dined in…. Next time I will order to go! Overall food & atmosphere 8/10.

We live 5 minutes away and for many years we drove past without stopping in, often driving 20+ minutes away for mediocre food from other popular Jamaican restaurants. We were blown away when we finally tried it for the first time about 6 months ago and have been regulars ever since. We dine in and order food to go and it is always fresh and flavorful. Their lunch special is perfectly sized for the price and the gravy is yummy. My only quip is the salad can sometimes have a bit more water in it than I’d like but at least I know it’s been freshly washed, it’s not that big a deal to me.
When you dine in the presentation is impeccable. I’m always very happy when the food arrives at the table because the plates are beautiful you can tell the chef takes pride in his work. We just went again for dinner tonight and the food and drinks and hospitality was so wonderful I decided I must leave a (long overdue) review. The brown stew fish is to die for! I would lick the plate if I could and the fish is always fresh. Calamari was crispy, wings are always excellent I love the ginger in the bbq sauce. And the drinks! Boy! My husband and I are heavy-ish drinkers so we can be hard to please when it comes to drinks but I’m pleased to report that the cocktails are not lacking at all. One cocktail and my head was spinning (in a good way) and that says something. Like I said, im no stranger to Wray and his nephew lol.
The hospitality from all the staff was excellent and we felt very welcome and not rushed even though we came close to closing time. This is a must try restaurant for anyone who appreciates good Jamaican food. Our only regret is we didn’t stop in years ago. This is our go-to spot now and the best part is it’s just down the road.

Spice Island Grill Colorado Springs
So excited about this restaurant. It makes me proud. The food was delicious. The presentation was like any 5-star restaurant. The service was also very pleasing. We all left feeling satisfied with our choices. The oxtail pasta was unique and unlike anything we’ve had but it was a great dish. We love how they were able to take traditional Jamaican dishes to the next level. Thanks so much. My curry lobster Tail was very flavorful and tender. Love love loved it all. Will definitely be back.

This was our first time visiting. It was a Friday night, and they had a live Reggae band playing. We were pleased with the presentation and taste of the food, friendly service, and overall, the nice vibe. For starters, we enjoyed the “turkey bacon wrapped scallops” and drinks.” My main course was the oxtail and curry goat combo, which is a plus for me because I love variety, and they offer several options. My hubby had the steak and lobster combo. I don’t know what it’s like on most nights, but they should be packed. Aaliyah, our server was friendly and attentive.

I usually get the lunch special, which is ok. I ordered the oxtail and curry, goat platter and I got nothing but a whole Lotta fat And sticks. I didn’t even finish it. So I said I would try something else so I got it escovitch fish king fish. The lady on the phone told me 20 minutes. Since I was at work, that was fine. I actually wind up going 25 minutes when I got there the food still wasn’t done. I said OK it is Friday so I got orders. I waited And I seen people walking up getting their food so I asked the woman how much longer, She she said oh it’s right here behind her. I got the fish went to my office where I worked and the fish was tough over cook. 25 dollars for overcooked fish That I had to wait for 40 minutes. Not pleased at all. The price dishes should not Worse Than the lunch specials. This is just feedback to give your customers better quality. I didn’t have time to return and wait for long for another fish.
