Our normal Chinese place was closed today, so we tried this one. THIS is now our favorite place. We decided to start with the spicy cucumbers and egg drop soup- other reviews recommended them and we were not disappointed! Also- get the Chinese tea! The soup was thick and delicious and had added crunchies! I had the fish with ginger sauce (there’s super fresh ginger on the top which I didn’t expect), and my fish didn’t taste fishy- that was the best. My boyfriend got General Tso’s chicken which was both crunchy and spicy- how it should be! He also substituted the rice for beef lo mein- that’s the best one in our opinion in the Cary/Morrisville area.

Google led us to Peng’s Asian Cuisine after searching for egg rolls. What a gem this place is! Called and placed an order for their fried shrimp egg roll pieces, fried pork egg rolls, and fried vegetable egg rolls. The owner was very helpful over the phone, describing the items, and repeating back my order for accuracy. Even when we went to pick up the order, we were greeted with friendly service and conversation. What a bonus! Absolutely good customer service. You can tell they enjoy serving customers. Egg rolls were perfectly crunchy, hot, and flavorful. Delicious and just what we wanted. Looking forward to trying some other items from their menu.

Delicious authentic Chinese food! Ask for the spicy wontons. Be adventurous! The lunch specials are made with the same quality and care as the main dishes. This is not just another strip mall restaurant. It’s truly a hidden gem.

Update: We come here several times a month, they are still the best Chinese restaurant in NC! I ordered the salt and pepper fish today. The breading was very light and delicate! It was accompanied by onions, peppers, and carrots.

Peng’s is one of the best local finds I’ve discovered trying restaurants since my recent move to the area. I had the spicy wontons appetizer. For my main, I had string beans with ground pork, spicy chicken, and eggplant with garlic sauce casserole. Everything was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were well considered. I highly recommend giving this place a try because my experience was delightful and I’m confident yours would be too! I look forward to trying more dishes here during future visits.

Peng’s Asian Cuisine is an absolute gem. The restaurant is run by a very welcoming and kind owner, which makes the experience feel special from the moment you walk in. The flavors were authentic, fresh, and perfectly balanced. Every dish was well-prepared, full of taste, and served in generous portions. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout. Definitely a go-to spot for excellent Asian cuisine—highly recommend!

Wow 5/5 amazing – that authentic homemade vibe you always search food.

We got 5 dishes and 3 sides for for 4 adults and 3 kids. Everything came fast, the host was nice, and the food was amazing.

Light yet flavorful – even the sweet and sour chicken was super. Will definitely return if in the area!

Overall Rating: 5.8/10
This dining spot provides a casual family-style atmosphere with service that outshines its setting, delivering a mixed experience where respectful, attentive service compensates for an ambiance that lacks professionalism and cleanliness.

Atmosphere: 5.7/10
The restaurant offers a low-tier family vibe that feels more like a takeout place with a decent dining area rather than a refined eatery. The less-than-pristine condition contributes to a casual, unpolished dining atmosphere.

Service: 6.2/10
Service was a highlight, characterized by extremely respectful and attentive staff. The cold water service was prompt, and the staff made efforts to ensure accuracy by reviewing the receipt, indicating a commitment to customer satisfaction despite the busy environment.

Food:

General Tso Chicken: 5.3/10
While the chicken was perfectly cooked and crispy, the flavor profile leaned towards a bold soy tang rather than the expected spicy sweetness. The inclusion of unwanted carrots and the absence of chili peppers detracted from the authenticity of the dish.

Beef Fried Rice: 6.3/10
The rice was freshly cooked, fluffy, and light, with well-cooked beef and a satisfactory portion size. However, the flavor was somewhat bland, needing more seasoning to elevate it.

Cheese Wonton: 2.2/10
This dish was disappointing, with a hard, stale shell that lacked the expected crispiness and flakiness. The overall quality and taste were underwhelming.

Pork Lo Mein: 6.2/10
The noodles were flavorful, with a bold Lo Mein taste and well-cooked beef, making this dish one of the more successful offerings.

Value: 6.1/10
The pricing aligns with the quality and overall dining experience, making it a fair choice for those seeking a casual meal without high expectations for the dining environment.

I don’t eat everyone’s Chinese food and this place reminded me why. The wings looks sick and they smell a bit. As if we received spoiled mean. The rice was missing the Brussel sprouts and onions that I asked for. The food is dry. I will not be returning to this establishment.

We had the pleasure of dining in! We tried the crab rangoons and egg rolls, as well as the general tsao chicken and broccoli & beef! The appetizers were a little cooler in the middle but still really yummy! Crispy shells with great fillings!
The meals were the star of the show! Fried rice pretty good but the chicken and beef were so flavorful and moist, and tasted amazing!! The sweetest couple running everything do a fantastic job, as does the chef!
