Cute, but small space. The baristas were very quick considering how many people were there when I went! I had a simple mocha and it was good. I did not try any food, but they seem to have a good collection of snack items.

Great little neighborhood spot for coffee, pastries, and remote work. Indoor and outdoor seating. Try the earl grey latte – comforting and just the right amount of honey and vanilla sweetness.

I had a holiday special, peppermint matcha. It was very well done and the latte art game was strong. The cafe was quite busy so plan accordingly!

The coffee is exceptional. I think maybe some of the best in Grand Rapids. I go a decent amount and am always please with the service I get from baristas. However, I can’t help but notice a pattern of waiting a pretty long time for my drink to be made. Even when there’s not really a line I usually wait at least 5-10 mins which can be a bit annoying. On busy days maybe even 20-25 mins sometimes. Other than that- fantastic.

One of my favorite places to come have a coffee and get a little work done. Great atmosphere where I feel relaxed. It can get busy and there is not a ton of seating. BUT in the winter they do have warm little huts outside you can use when you purchase something. Overall I highly recommend stopping in…it was also about 3/4 of a mile walk from the hospital which is super handy if you are at the hospital a lot!

One of the best coffee shops in Grand Rapids. Their olive oil cake is delicious, but also highly recommend grabbing a croissant next door and getting a cafe miel here. It’s usually busy so arrive early to grab a spot!

EDIT: Below is my original review, but I wanted to edit it to talk about the amazing team members that reached out to make my experience better! After leaving my review, I was promptly contacted by the managers to state that there was a misunderstanding with the barista that served me and that that is not how Lyon Street Cafe runs. They invited me back in, made me a banana latte and a brown sugar chai latte for my partner, and apologized for my original experience. I am so happy that what I originally experienced was not the normal and I will absolutely be coming back in!
The atmosphere is very cute. But, when ordering, I was shocked to learn that they do not have brown sugar. Then, when I asked to use the banana syrup in a latte instead of a matcha the barista just said “we don’t use speciality syrups in other drinks than the special ones.” I found this to be disappointing because if I’m paying for the syrup, why can’t I switch out the base? When we got our drinks, which was a good wait time, we were just disappointed. My partner’s chai latte tasted watered down and almost like chamomile. My pumpkin latte just tasted like oatmilk with a slight hint of pumpkin. If I am paying $7 for a drink, I want it to taste like what I am ordering. Additionally, walking away from the barista who took my order I overall felt judged for even asking for different drinks. I don’t doubt that there are drinks that taste good, but for my first impression of the place I was underwhelmed.

Delicious Rosemary Cappuccino… & amazing service!! Super busy inside, but the staff were very kind and extremely prompt in their wait times for drinks. What a cute little district with the bakery next door!

It was pretty busy when we went but found parking an a table to sit at. My sister stopped in to work for a little bit and grabbed coffee and a pastry. The muffin I got was really tasty, moist, and I would buy it again and my coffee was also really delicious. Because it was busy it was an energetic atmosphere but I was still able to work efficiently while there. Overall the staff was fantastic, our orders were delicious, and I would recommend visiting if you have the chance!
