Appearances can be deceiving, and I never expected such a memorable meal to come from a food wagon encountered during a casual drive. Having sampled fare from hundreds—perhaps thousands—of food trucks and wagons across the globe, I’ve learned to expect the unexpected. Tokyo 212 is no exception; it delivered a standout experience.
On this visit, we opted for the Solo Hibachi, accompanied by a side of egg rolls. From the moment the food arrived, the aroma was inviting and the presentation generous. We tried both the Beef Hibachi and Chicken Hibachi, each served with fried rice and sautéed vegetables. One of the first things we appreciated was the restraint in seasoning—flavorful without being overwhelmed by salt, which is a rare and welcome touch.
Tokyo 212 also provided soy sauce packets and an additional sauce option for those who prefer to customize their flavor profile. And yes, the freshness of the ingredients was unmistakable—worth repeating.
While I wouldn’t claim to be the reigning authority on mobile cuisine, I am certainly a seasoned and appreciative customer. Tokyo 212 earns its place among the food truck experiences that genuinely impress.

Best food truck sushi! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised! I have never had sushi with orange sauce before. I might go light on it next time as it has a sweet flavor. Nonetheless, my sushi, pot stickers, and crab rangoon were tasty. For the experienced crab rangoon lovers, the crab rangoon is a deep-fried breaded coating, not a crispy, golden wonton wrapper. The crab rangoon was still tasty though!

I’ve wanted to try Tokyo 212 since I first saw someone post about it back in March! We went on a whim tonight while we were in town and showed up about 15 minutes before they closed. They still gladly took our order and it was done in about 10-15 minutes tops which went by pretty quickly. We ordered steak hibachi, a side of rice and noodles and the Snowdrop sushi roll (I believe that’s what it was anyway – I asked the chef his favorite roll and went with what he said). The hibachi was good. The rice was a little too peppery for my liking and the noodles had a unique ginger flavor (it wasn’t bad, just not what I was expecting) but my kids couldn’t get enough of it. The sushi was AMAZING. I was low key mad that I had to share it with my husband because I wanted it all to myself . Honestly I’d make a special trip back to town just to get it again. Overall it was a great experience, the staff was very friendly and I’m grateful for the additional variety of local food this provides. Definitely recommend and I’ll definitely be back!

Fresh food made when you order with large portion sizes. We have enjoyed the occasional meal here living in this town and recommend it highly. Call ahead available is great also.

Great food! The quality and the amount of protein were on par with dining inside a hibachi restaurant. And a huge plus was that the vegetables weren’t just huge slabs of broccoli. We didn’t try the sushi rolls because of the seaweed wraps, we are hoping that they will give options for soy wraps in the future, but they did sound delicious.

I’ve only been here twice. The first time the crab ragoon wasn’t my fave. It was a thick crust with little filling and hard fried. My hibachi veggies were ok but not impressive. The second time I was going to try something else but they were closed even though their Google site and listed hours said they should have been open. Portion sizes are decent and prices are reasonable.

Rude, Overpriced, and Not Worth the Hassle
I called Tokyo Hibachi in Eaton, Ohio at 7:41 PM, a full 19 minutes before closing, to place an order. I was ready to spend over $50 — so it would’ve absolutely been worth their time. Instead, I was met with one of the rudest, most unprofessional interactions I’ve ever had with a restaurant.
The woman on the phone gave a confusing non-answer like, “Yes, but we close at 8,” as if she didn’t want to say no but clearly didn’t want to say yes either. When I asked again just to clarify, she suddenly started yelling in another language to someone else, while I was still on the line. I have no idea what was being said, but the tone was aggressive and made me feel completely disrespected — so I just hung up.
If you can’t handle taking an order from a paying customer (again, $50+ worth of food) 19 minutes before closing, then maybe you shouldn’t be open until 8. And honestly, this place is overpriced, which makes it even more overrated. There are plenty of other places to spend money where you won’t be treated like an inconvenience. I won’t be calling back — and I definitely won’t recommend it to anyone else.

Delicious! Portions are very fair, tastes amazing, and a rather large selection for their set up. Very happy to be able to get sushi without leaving our county. Will definitely keep trying different menu options. Also they were very quick despite a busy dinner rush!
