Rocket National Buffet

The food at Rocket Buffet is pretty good. I gave 3 stars because you can’t dine in, orange chicken is not a buffet item like it is in most Chinese restaurants, you have to order it. Also their general Tso chicken doesn’t have vegetables in it. The food is hot and the buffet stays stocked. The cashier is nice and professional. The food taste good. If you’re hungry for some quick Chinese food then it’ll do. We need more Chinese restaurants in town.

We love rocket buffet. I understand the food waste that would occur if they were to be a seat-in buffet in this town. You get what you pay for, and it’s definitely the best Asian food in Alamogordo. The lady at the front always takes great care of my husband and I.

Food was fresh and tasty. Buffet has three packed tables plus a side table, quite full for the size of the dining area. My lunch, without drink, was under $10 with tip (partial table service, with buffet). The staff was friendly and the service was good.

Re. firearms, there were no special signs at the door, but I did not open carry or notice anyone else doing so.

I was in the area running an errand on base and had a good appetite on me so I saw this place clearly saying “buffet” on the sign but when I walked in the lady working said take out only so I was about to walk out but decided let me satisfy this hunger real quick and drive back to Fort Bliss, TX so the pricing is $6.99 per pound and you get to stuff a to go tray with the decent variety of food. The lady was a bit rude, but I guess that’s NM for you. The inside looked very sketch was very dimly lit and they did have seating area for you to sit down and eat and didn’t see anything wrong with it so I dont know what’s going on with that. The food was very good I almost threw everything that was on the buffet line into that little to go tray and everything was very flavorful and cooked very well so food was definitely worth the stop. And I would eat there again or I should say fill a tray and take it to go. I give the food 5 stars but deducting 1 star from this review due to the inconvenience and misinterpretation of advertising. But pricing is very fair.
