I mean talk about flavors, grandpa Hanks can tell you all about it. The food his serving is SOOOO GREAT but spicy!!!! Don’t really mentioning it anywhere but we hardly can eat the jerk chicken its soo spicy but so well flavored that you cant stay away. Jerk chicken should be called “ Jerk madness”, because i will even take the stomach discomfort from the spiciness just so i can taste the flavor behind it. I don’t know what kind of voodoo his doing and using, but this food is like crack to a junkie (must be). the rasta pasta was an other great choice, not sure why both underrated on uber but don’t fall for it. The pasta was a little greasy for me, i soaked off the oil with the paper towel but otherwise, the texture of pasta was perfect ( i cant stand overcooked pasta) flavor not any less, portion also, so its 10/10 even with my oil situation. Its only my personal preference.

This is by far the worst so called Jamaican food I ever had (I am a Jamaican). I told them easy on the gravy. The pictures will speak for itself. I ordered a pineapple upside down cake and it tasted like someone put a slice of pineapple on a piece of cardboard.
They proceeded to cut up a whole pepper in my meal instead of placing it on the side. I will let the pictures speak. They gave me jerk chicken which basically as done in the oven with some black pepper and salt. Good thing they won’t be there long. Hear they are getting replaced by TGIF.

I would have not known about this gem if it had not popped up on Doordash. Amazing quality food, as someone else commented, you can tell they put love into the food they are making. This may or may not be “authentic” Jamaican food but the food tasted like home cooked food and as a working parent, that is important to me. This area lacks restaurants offering quality food, I am so tired of throwing away horrible restaurant food no matter how much I pay for it. All the food I ordered from Grandpa Hank’s Jamaican Kitchen was made of quality ingredients and had enough flavor to get my picky kid to eat it. The portions are large and prices are super reasonable. I ordered the chicken wings (which came with rice and beans), the chicken breast (which came with rice and beans and cabbage) and plantains. Either of the chicken dinner entrees were enough to feed 2 people. The plantains were PERFECT!! Nice crust on the outside, soft on the inside, and NOT drenched in oil. Will definitely order from here on a regular basis.

I don’t even know where to begin. We ordered curry goat and 2 oxtail plates to go. The rice was so over cooked and soaked in sauce it was basically rice soup. The few pieces of goat on top of the rice were rancid making this whole dish inedible. The oxtail plates same issues…. we wasted almost $90 for food we couldn’t eat. This is definitely not Jamaican food! Please save your money and eat elsewhere.

The food was amazing. Oxtail is my favorite, it was so tender. Yuka with the sauce was to die for. The sauce was sweet and the yuka was crispy and soft in the middle. The beed patties were home made, you could tell. Thick flaky golden crust and spicy filling ❤️❤️
Giving them 4 stars because they forgot an order and beef patties.

From a Caribbean person, don’t do it if you want authentic taste. They were cheap on the ox, and way too much gravy, which made the rice soft. I’d suggest putting sauces on the side and if you’re going to put less meat, add more veggies.

Got the oxtail on rice. Why is there Chickpeas in the Rice and peas?! The gravy was way too sweet. Someone must’ve mixed up the salt with the sugar. But even if you are using sugar, it’s supposed to be brown sugar. The meat was rubbery and dry. No cabbage? No way! Go to Silver Spring and try Negril.

This was the best jerk chicken I have ever had! Even the cabbage had more flavor than any cabbage I have ever eaten. I’m really glad I found this place on door dash. Thanks grandpa Hank!!!

Needs to have a disclaimer about spiciness of food. Unable to taste or enjoy any of it due the use of ghost peppers. Ordered jerk chicken and curry goat. Tongue and cheeks scorched, nose running none stop. Not everyone enjoys this. $50 on a meal I could not eat.
