I wanted to share a positive experience I had with this restaurant. A young new owner took over and I must say, they really turned this place around. A while ago with old ownership the place never seemed as clean but the new owner made sure this place was well kept and gave it the new glow it needed.
The atmosphere is super clean and comfortable that you feel like home walking into it. Even the bathrooms are super clean!!
The food was absolutely delicious that I completely forgot to take pictures hahaha. I had gotten the teriyaki chicken along with the California rolls. It was such a huge portion that I was not disappointed! Can’t wait to come back again.

I ordered the prawns tempura. The battery was excellent, the cook was perfect, and I could not have asked for fresher or tastier ingredients. The service was excellent. I even took some of it home with me and finished it off shortly later with no loss of satisfaction. Please do yourself a favor and try these guys out if you haven’t already.

My wife and I have been regulars here for years, it has always been my favorite teriyaki place in yelm. But the new owners have completely ruined it. Service was horrible and the wait time was LONG! (Over half an hour with only two other tables) By the time we finally got our food it was void of all color (like there was an old timey filter over it), maybe a drop of teriyaki sauce, and was ICE COLD. Despite the look of it they had already made me pay so I took a bite and immediately spit it out and told my wife we were leaving. Will not be returning.

I try to give this place a chance three different times this last time the rice was raw and there was no sauce on the teriyaki the time before that I ordered chicken and beef teriyaki and it was just beef and I couldn’t even chew it and again Cincy on the sauce kind of angry I even tipped at this point and the first time I saw them dumped someone else’s tea back into another teapot.. so no thanks! this is why we should not have to tip until after we see the service!!!

Food looked very good in the reviews but was average at best. Tasteless fried rice, certainly not worth paying extra. Frozen fried rice at Safeway had it beat by a mile. The breading on the Katsu was too thick, almost tough.

I’ve been coming to young’s my whole life and whenever I come back to my hometown of Yelm, I try to stop in. The service is always very fast and pleasant. Today we ordered hot tea, teriyaki beef with tempura, and tonkatsu chicken. The tempura here is too notch, I love that it comes with a thick sauce. My beef teriyaki was perfectly balanced in flavor. This is the best teriyaki in town and for a low price and consistently low wait times. Give young’s a try!
