The hot dogs are amazing as said, however there is no seating inside in order to eat and there is no air conditioning so it is extremely hot inside. I got a polish dog with everything on it and it was amazing perfect mix of sour and savory. Their fries were also off the wall perfect amount of salt and slightly limp due to the grease. The pizza puff was kind of like a hot pocket but better, however it made the wait time so much longer so I’d just recommend getting a hotdog.

The lady that takes the order, her name is Gina, she is very unprofessional and rude ! I went in today and ordered two polish’s, she did put my food in a plastic bag, and when I asked her to put it in the plastic bag, she said no. Mind you that I’ve been coming to Dave’s since I was a kid, when they use to be located on Homan. As long as Gina is taking orders at Dave’s , I will never step inside that store again.

Delicious hot dog spot! The food is great, though just be mindful that it’s not the safest part of the city.

I worked there as a kid in grade school. My best friend Betty Steins father owned the place. Lived across street on Homan Avenue. Went to Lawson elementary and Marshall HS. Memories of great hot dogs and fries.

Their Italian beef is great. It has the Dave’s Red Hots taste to it, which makes it unique. I would like to come back here.

I grew up eating Dave’s red hots, since I was a little boy and now that I’m a senior citizen I still enjoy that double hot dog, just as much as I loved it when I was a kid I recommend everyone trial Dave’s Red hots, And those french fries are still famous better than McDonald’s if you ask me

Stopped by Dave’s Red Hots on Roosevelt for a quick lunch. Grabbed a classic hot dog with everything—mustard, pickles, sport peppers—and added onions and relish. Also went for a deep-fried Polish sausage, which was crispy and juicy. The hand-cut fries were hot and fresh. Service was quick, and the staff was friendly. It’s a no-frills spot with a lot of history and flavor. Definitely a go-to for a solid, affordable meal in the area.

Good lord, this place is phenomenal. Deservedly famous, one of the very best hot dog joints in the city. Around since the 30s, 4th generation black female owned business, the line is long for good reason! Excellent dogs (recommend deep frying for 25c), and every dog is topped with a generous portion of fries, which are *perfect.* Mozzarella sticks are spectacular too, and under $5
