The Smithfield Gourmet Bakery, in the heart of historic Smithfield, Virginia, on property platted centuries ago, in a 18th-century storefront on old Main Street, offers breakfast, lunch and early dinner selections until 5 p.m. seven days a week. Offerings include delicate pastries and delightfully decadent menu options — as well as old favorites — every breakfast, lunch and brunch. Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Need something light? Try a fruit cup, a slice of quiche or a cup of oatmeal! Need something substantial? Go for one of our meal-worthy sandwiches: Main Street Monte Cristo, the Bakery Burger, the pork and Pinot wrap or the Windsor Castle. Yum!

Absolutely love this little spot. Stopped in for later lunch. Pleasantly surprised at decent prices on everything. The sausage and biscuits are so delicious. Best ive ever had. The prices on fresh baked goods were beyond reasonable and great quality and delicious! This will be a regular stop for us “newbie” locals. Great job!

I had the Reuben and it was my first time trying one and ooohhh my gosh it was so good . The bread was absolutely amazing and I had my sandwich with honey mustard. The perfect touch. I had hand cut fries which were so good and I had a cup of Brunswick soup. Everything was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it. Everyone was beyond happy with their meal!

I had a fantastic experience at Smithfield Gourmet Bakery. The service was excellent, our servers were friendly, attentive, and really made the visit enjoyable. I tried the Main Street Monte Cristo Sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious, definitely a standout. The carrot cake was incredible! I was full from lunch so I grabbed a piece to go. The atmosphere had a very cool, welcoming vibe that made it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Very nice place to stop for a bite to eat. The staff was attentive and the table was clean. Just wanted something simple, so it was the biscuits and sausage gravy. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the tasty gravy made it almost melt in your mouth. This was a very good meal. The house cut fries were average, not really crispy, and lightly seasoned. Overall good experience and good food.

Y’all, Burrito says this is like stepping into a small town from any Hallmark movie. Think hometown, born country, southern hospitality, and calories don’t count here. If I hadn’t come with mine, you might just find ya husband, or the small town love of your life. Dumpling says small town feels and moves at a small town pace, but worth the wait and time. The hush puppies were good, but the herbed butter was the star of that show. We split a club sandwich on tomato basil bread and onion rings for the side; we split this and did not leave hungry. Solid onion rings. We left with a loaf of that tomato basil bread, cookies, a cupcake, and other bake goods. We also got a slice of their chocolate cake cheesecake, slap yo momma, this is everything Burrito wants in a cheesecake – the flavor, texture, consistency, down to the graham cracker crust, I can’t even tell you the last time I had cheese cake so authentically what I was looking for and ate the crust. We would definitely return, not in a hurry
