I have been going here for a long time, but quality and service has been going down. Two of my recent orders were missing items. Today I did pickup to avoid this. I had to wait 30 minutes after the pickup time only to come home and realize that my thin crust pizza was burnt and my deep dish pizza was not cooked enough to the point where I did not feel comfortable eating it unless I put it back in the oven. Very dissapointing.

Restaurant was clean. Order was ready at time promised. My mother and I order personal deep dish pizzas, her the classic with sausage, me the buffalo chicken one. Both DELICIOUS, cooked perfectly, and hit the spot. So good that Lou’s might have to fall into our dinner rotation more often.

Just had Lou Malnatis for our monthly family dinner. Two large stuffed pizzas and two thin pizzas. One was the new triple pepperoni pizza. We also ordered three orders of chicken wings. Everyone in the family loved everything. We can’t wait to order from them again.

What changed? We’ve been ordering Deep Dish pizza here for years. The past 3 orders the pizza didn’t have any flavor. No tastes at all. First time we thought just a bad day, but not 3 X’s in a row. I’m done ordering here for awhile.

Ordered the Two Pizza Meal Deal for our family of 5, including two young men with good appetites. A nice amount of food (especially given deep dish pizzas) + a very reasonable price.
Pizzas were ready right on time. Still hot enough that they were steaming when I got them home! Salad was a big portion and very fresh.

Place an order by app at 4:25pm, for pick at 5:30pm, I get there at 5:20pm -my order was acknowledged at check in- no updates until 5:50pm so I asked for an update and I am told “we are running behind “. 6:05pm I asked again for update and told them on the app it shows order complete and lady went back to check again and comes back saying “kitchen lost your pizza” – we can make new one which will take another 20 minutes – you can wait or we will deliver. No apologies whatsoever and it was like my mistake. I told them I will wait as I waited for almost hour at that point. I get my pizza by 6:30pm which is of course messed up order but at that point I just wanted my food and get out from that place. Manager should have at least come out and explain what went wrong.

Service: I placed an order for pickup at 6 p.m. I arrived at 5:55, and was told to wait for 5 minutes. 25 minutes later, after roughly 15 other customers came in to pick up their orders, mine was given to me, but only after I asked for it again 5 minutes early.
Food: 2 deep dish pizzas, and an order of wings were overcooked.
Atmosphere: At least I got to sit down while waiting for my food. It’s rough to give it an “average” 3-star experience when you’re waiting for your food to be picked up 25 minutes later, and 15 customers after.
It’s entirely possible they forgot about my order, or worse, me waiting in the lobby.

We’ve been loyal customers for decades. Over the past couple years the pizza has been getting worse and worse. Less veggies, less sausage, more water, and Higher prices! What a shame. Don’t waste your money. I’m going back to thin crust, unless I actually go to downtown Chicago. And then it probably won’t be Lou’s…
