The first impression sets the scene well. The restaurant is clean, open, and bright, with a modern aesthetic that feels intentional rather than busy. There’s a moon-themed mural on the wall that initially feels a little mysterious, but paired with the restaurant’s “Asian fusion” identity, it works, less traditional, more contemporary, like a genre blend that knows what it’s doing.
The staff hits their marks right away. We were acknowledged immediately, seated quickly, and our waitress stayed consistently attentive throughout the meal. She checked in often without hovering, keeping things moving smoothly like a well-paced episode.
Since it was our first visit, we decided to explore the menu across categories. From the hibachi side, my wife ordered the steak and chicken with fried rice. I went with the hibachi salmon and steak, also with fried rice. I added the Godzilla sushi roll (spicy tuna and eel) and we shared a side of sesame chicken from the Chinese side of the menu.
The Godzilla roll made the opening appearance. It arrived first with plenty of wasabi and ginger, chopsticks ready, and soy sauce already waiting at the table. The timing worked perfectly for me, though my wife (who doesn’t eat sushi) ended up waiting a bit longer for her food. Next time, a soup or appetizer would balance that pacing better.
When the main dishes arrived, the portions were generous and well worth the price. Everything was solid, but the sesame chicken was the surprise standout. Crispy, flavorful, and noticeably better executed than what we’ve had at other familiar spots, it was the sleeper hit that quietly steals the scene.
Despite the wide-open layout, the atmosphere stayed comfortable and calm. There was enough energy in the room for my wife and I to talk and joke naturally, but never so loud that it might be distracting to others. It struck a nice balance, lively without being chaotic.
By the end of the meal, it was clear this wasn’t just a decent first watch, it’s a series we’ll be coming back to. Hibachi House of Clinton delivers good food, friendly service, and a modern fusion vibe that lands cleanly. Consider this episode bookmarked for a rewatch.
They have alcohol on the menu but cannot serve it yet because they are struggling to get an alcohol license.
* New remodel is a fun vibe/nice decor.
* Now restaurant-style. Can be waited on or still order food to go.
* Atmosphere/music- current radio hits. Not too loud or overbearing- nice background music.
* Food- seems to be the same as before. My favorite is the American Dream sushi roll. Hibachi salmon and beef was also good- I get pretty picky with my salmon/all restaurants over-cook it to my liking so I’ll probably try the shrimp next time.
* Price seems to be similar. Their menu reflects the 50% off sushi price they used to have as just their regular pricing now so it’s no longer limited to certain days/times.
* Service- We came on a Sunday. Everything was timely and staff was friendly as usual.
Cons-
* Booth seating- the benches are too far away from the table. I was sitting on the very edge of the bench seat and still had to lean over to eat over my plate.
* No side order of noodles available anymore- that was my son’s favorite. You now have to order a full entree for the noodles.
We have never been to this place, and was very excited to try it.
We saw they had recently done some renovations, and the place has a very clean vibe. The art on the wall was moon themed.
The food, was pretty good. I like a good cheese wanton, and ours came with crab I think? But was ordered as cheese. It was very crispy. And delicious.
The pot stickers were pretty good too.
They didn’t have very many vegetarian options.
Our main dishes were smaller in portions I feel like, and missing flavor. But the experience was good.
Hima is such a great waitress and personality, she made the experience even more enjoyable.
I was pleasantly surprised that it was such a great time and atmosphere, I enthusiastically recommend it for anyone’s dining pleasure!
Thank you again Hibachi!
