First, a caveat: it’s cash only (they do have an ATM inside) so no cards!
It’s a very beautiful, old-school, turn-of-the-century vibe that we love about Brooklyn Heights. We were lucky enough to get a table for two without waiting. To start, our drinks were awesome! The mixologist made a wonderful margarita and the best old-fashioned I’ve had literally in years! Their calamari fritti was breaded & fried to a very delicate crisp. The homemade pasta dishes were amazingly fresh too. We had pappardelle al funghi (mixed mushrooms, olive oil, parmesan) and tagilatelle al ragu di agnello (lamb ragu, cinnamon, cannanou wine sauce, pecorino) and both were out of this world with flavor and perfectly cooked al-dente goodness. Their torta al limone slice for dessert was outstanding as well. This was one of the best meals we’ve had in the neighborhood, and we told Morgan (manager/server) that we would return with friends. It’s a must! (Just remember to bring cash! And by the way, the prices were very reasonable: all the pasta dishes were around $20, drinks $16)
It’s a great spot for a dinner date, with a chill and pleasant atmosphere.
However, keep in mind that it’s cash only (there is an ATM inside).
I do find it a bit pricey for what you get, after all it’s pasta, but the quality is definitely there.
The cocktails are also very good, though on the expensive side.
Overall, I recommend it for a special date night.

The second time *edit: this was during fall season* we also sat outside, had a really lovely chat with our waiter who took our orders. Then an hour came and we did not get our food or drinks, and weren’t able to get the attention of anyone to help us. We figured they were busy. But after watching everyone around us get seated, have full meals and even begin to leave, our waiter finally came back and said he forgot to put in our order. We were not offered anything, only that if we wanted to order dessert they would comp one, which we didn’t really want.
Not sure if this restaurant has a system for making sure they get to the tables on the outside, but it really wasn’t a nice experience and I don’t think I’ll be returning.
Sadly, our experience was tainted at the end of the meal after a rude encounter with one of the staff there. He yelled at me when I took my camera out and kicked me out of the restaurant.
Didn’t try any, but the cocktail list looked good, and plenty of wine options.
Octopus was ok, but everything else was amazing.
We missed lunch so had an early dinner when it wasn’t busy but around 7pm every seat was full.
Great neighborhood spot and loved the branzino (special) and the spinach ricotta ravioli
Carbonara made authentically with raw egg! Lasagna is . Trofie is such an underrated pasta. Pane Frattau is straight from Sardinia.
Outdoor seating! yay!
Cash only, but worth it. (ATM on premises bc there is not one nearby!)
