We were in Johnstown over Mother’s Day weekend visiting family. While staying at a nearby hotel, in the past we always got our morning coffee from this Starbucks. When we walked in Saturday morning 11 May 2024, we were impressed with the remodel. The very nice lady behind the counter shared with us the store has been open for a week. What I didn’t immediately notice was the new way of brewing the coffee. It’s the same idea of brewing one cup at a time being all automated. In my opinion, this is a brilliant idea on paper but not in practice. I like the taste of the old-fashion drip coffee. After having the Grande one-cup coffee, I started internally shaking from having too much caffeine. (I know the sensation of having too much caffeine.) On the drip coffee, I never feel nor felt this before. Ever! I’m including a picture of the cup bottom with the residual grounds which isn’t in the old-fashion drip. My motto is: Newer is not always better especially in the way of brewing coffee!! Please Starbucks: Don’t take away your drip coffee!
