We visited Eastern Eye Indian Restaurant for the first time in many years to celebrate a significant birthday, and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish.

The staff were fantastic, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, which really made the occasion feel special. The food was delicious: full of flavour, beautifully cooked, and presented so nicely. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and incredibly tasty.

The restaurant itself was spotless, with a cheerful, relaxed atmosphere that made the whole evening even more enjoyable.

A brilliant experience all round, and we will definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended.

Massively overpriced. The lamb jalfrezi was chewy and lacked any kind of flavour. I asked for extra hot and the waiter added .50p to the cost. You couldn’t make it up. There are some excellent Indian restaurants in Plymouth. This one isn’t one of them.

I visited the Eastern Eye for the first time in a few years and it was as good as I remember it. We were there for our son-in-law’s 25th birthday and attended with young children also. The staff were amazing and it was a nice change to get really great customer service instead of the usual average. The manager is charismatic and personable, and made everyone feel very welcome indeed. When it was time for the birthday cake, the entire staff came out in a procession with bongo style drums and singing happy birthday. This was both unexpected and brilliant, putting a smile on everybody’s face. It was especially funny as the birthday boy was in the loo at the time so they had to stop the procession and hide in the corner, to repeat the experience a few minutes later. Everybody enjoyed the food and as a vegan myself, it was really tasty. Vegan choices are often limited in pubs/restaurants but they said that they could produce a vegan version of any dish on the menu; that’s amazing service. Overall, the Eastern Eye was a great experience and I’ll definitey be back.

It is the first time for me to eat Indian food. My sisters told me that Indian food cooked in UK is very good. I had my first experience at The Eastern Eye and most definitely…. They did not disappoint. They did made my first taste of Indian food a very pleasant one. I ordered a lamb dish that was their house specialty. SUPER GOOD!!! It was a take-away order. The chef was super nice to also give me the chicken version for me to taste. It was very good too. The salad and sauces were also very good. Will go back again if we do not get dinner tonight together with our tour. THANK YOU!!!

Visited on Christmas Day with my family, and had a fantastic experience. Omar, in particular, really stood out for his warmth and attentiveness, and the whole team were equally brilliant, friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The food was excellent, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. A wonderful experience from start to finish. Definitely highly recommended.

This was the absolute best Indian meal I have eaten. The staff are so helpful and polite, the owner is beyond wonderful and the food was unbelievably tasty. So much to choose from and every dish was incredible. The flavours were perfect and the atmosphere was perfect for a date night and for a meal with friends. The booths give you privacy and the staff are so attentive. We will definitely be going back many more times. Without question the best Indian restaurant in Plymouth.

Ordered food for delivery this evening and I have to say it was incredible , food was so fresh piping hot and huge portions thank you to the chef for the extra side dish you put in so lovely and kind of you all dishes were superb, well worth the money which I think is reasonable big portions and great quality awsome flavours . Seen a lot of reveiws complaining about the price but its very reasonable considering the cost of everything is going up and business’s also have to survive. Thank you again for the amazing food

The food was poor quality, badly lacking in flavour, and absolutely not worth the price. The bill came to £80, which is outrageous for food of this standard.

When I complained to the manager about the quality and the cost, instead of dealing with it professionally, he threatened to call the police. That is not how paying customers should ever be treated.

Because the food was so bad, we paid £60 rather than the full £80. As we were leaving, the manager then told us to “be careful” because we might get hit by a car on the road — a completely inappropriate and intimidating comment.

Terrible food, overpriced, and shocking customer service. We will not be returning and would strongly advise others to think twice before eating here.
