Favorites: menudo and carnitas. Few places I have known and from here the carnitas and menudo are good. Accompanied by their freshly made tortillas they are great. Everyone’s attention is great. I’ve taken family and friends and they all love it.

Neighborhood store / market with kitchen that serves delicious food as well. Small menu but terrific food. Service was friendly, very nice and accessible to order just fine. Small seating area could use some help but added to the ambiance. I had the street tacos and i thought they were great. If you want some delicious, neighborhood food, this is it.

The tacos are always fresh and delicious here. I recommend carnitas with skin, and a cold beer. It’s a smaller restaurant inside of a grocery store there are only about 7 tables to sit in, it can get kind of busy but you can order to go, or ahead of time. There are a variety of items on the menu and with everything these days the prices are kind of high. But if you want to treat yourself to great tacos with handmade tortillas, I highly recommend doing it! You go to the back counter and order with a ticket that you take to the front register and pay. Provecho! In English, enjoy your food!

Their carnitas and chicharrones are delicious. Not sure when chicharrones are available, I didn’t see any when I went in around 10am, they used to sell bags of small pieces, but now its bags of like crumbs, not sure. There corn tamales are delicious

There is a small taqueria in the back of the store the have a small but good selection on their menu. They also have a small salsa bar. I got the quesabirra plate and the quesabirras were good.

Owner reached out. Very kind and caring small family owned business.
We visited for a second time to eat and food and service were improved.
Store was a little cramped but clean and staff were friendly. I was able to find a couple of other goodies there. At last visit I ordered the quesabirras again and there were better than last time.

Plaza Morelia is a hidden gem in the Salem-Keizer area. This has been my go to for authentic Mexican food for some time. Anything from tacos to pastries with so many things in between. This is a restaurant, carnecería and general store.
Today we order Menudo, tortillas and picked up our usual sugared donuts. The menudo is served with a side of homemade tortillas and garnished with onions, cilantro, toasted chiles and lime. You can order it with or with out pata.
But the real hidden gem of this store are the sugared donuts that are made fresh throughout the day. These giant, fluffy, deep fried , sugary clouds are to die for! These donuts are huge and reasonably priced.
My husband will eat their homemade tortillas. We only buy their homemade tortillas and we eat them daily. They are silky soft and thick. They accompany any meal perfectly.
