We were in New Orleans celebrating my birthday when a cold front rolled in on our second night. The wind picked up, the temperature dropped fast, and walking around suddenly didn’t sound like much fun. So, we searched for a cozy place for dinner, and Good Catch | Thai Urban Bistro caught our eye. They were closing at 9pm and it was already close to 8, so we grabbed an Uber and headed over.
We made it just in time and were seated right away, even without a reservation. That alone felt like a win.
My family loves ordering a variety of dishes to share so we can try a little of everything, and we definitely did that here. Every dish that came out was flavorful and beautifully prepared. You could taste the freshness in everything. The clams with basil were delicious, though the clams themselves were on the smaller side. I would have loved them to be a bit bigger, more like Manila clams. Still, the flavor was spot on.
We also wished we had arrived earlier to try their whole steamed fish, but since it was close to closing, there just wasn’t enough time to prepare it. Completely understandable, and honestly, just gives us a reason to come back. I would also like to mention the Chef’s husband; the Owner was very hospitable and welcoming.
Overall wonderful experience, the food, the atmosphere, and the warm service made for such a nice birthday dinner, especially on a chilly night when we needed somewhere comfortable to settle in. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in New Orleans.

Wow. This place is a must try in the area. The food is delicious. The frozen mojito is strong and delicious. I had the spring rolls which come with a chili sauce and was to die for. And for dessert the mango cheesecake is light and tasteful. Definitely stop here if you’re in the area, it won’t disappoint!!!!

It is the kind of place where everything you order tastes amazing. “Yuri” also provides wonderful service (apart from having the coolest haircut) and makes the whole experience even better. Found place this on WWL w/Malik. The main dishes were excellent! The Pad Thai was especially delicious—full of flavor and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the Sweet and Sour with beef and shrimp, and both proteins were tender and really well prepared.
The only small downside was the appetizer; the edamame was a bit underdone and could have used a little more steam time.
Overall, though, we really enjoyed our meal.

I lived in Thailand for two years, so I’m pretty picky when it comes to Thai food — but Good Catch blew me away. We went with a few friends and ordered several different dishes, and everything was incredible. The flavors were authentic and perfectly balanced. My husband said the tuna salad appetizer (Thai Tuna Tataki) was the best he’s ever had in his life! The food, the service, the vibe — all amazing. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in NOLA!

I love Thai food. And I admit a bit of a Thai food snob always looking for the best restaurants that can match my home cooking. I loved this restaurant. The Panang curry had plenty of Kaffir and fish sauce. Sea food was awesome. And service executional. Papaya salad was fresh. Loved everything about this place. Had two sides, two entrees, and drink and all under 100 bucks. ( not including tip) well worth the stop if you love Thai food like me
