We’ve been here many times now. It’s a great spot for a drink, with an excellent wine list. The small plates never disappoint. The full cheese board is outstanding and far superior to other wine bars in the area.
The atmosphere is chic and stylish. We often sit outside when the weather is nice.
On our most recent visit, we stopped in specifically for a digestif and ordered the Cappelletti Elisir Novasalus Vino Amaro. It’s incredibly unique: herbal, bitter, and aromatic. You’d be hard-pressed to find anything like it anywhere else.
Friendly service, great ambiance, excellent food and wine. Highly recommended.

Stopped for a light snack but can’t wait to go back for a meal. We had broccolini and spritzers – large portion and excellent. The board of specials was amazing. Service was great – an upscale atmosphere in the heart of Canal Street’s shopping area.

In case you missed my reel, we had an excellent date in New Smyrna beach starting off on Canal Street at one of our favorite restaurants, Bar Leona.
We wanted to finally try the pear sacchetti that we’ve heard so many great things about.
We wanted something light and refreshing so we both had a refreshing spritzer that was on the menu.
I went with a chef special the peach prosciutto salad and Raj had the strawberry salad with the poppyseed dressing. Both salads were nice.
The pear sacchetti is a nice shareable dish, it’s a bit rich but delicious and the pistachios really brought it all together for me-
We met another local foodie during our visit and he recommended that we try the chef’s special the cacio e pepe, we special ordered it with linguine instead of the tortelloni – I was literally in pasta heaven. The dish was piping hot!
This dish is very comparable to an Alfredo-just a bit heavier on the pepper- I’m not one to really order an Alfredo dish, but this dish was absolute perfection and I would get it again and again and again!!! I did not want to give that dish back to Raj
Nikki was our server, we’ve had her before- service is always excellent here. We just always enjoy Bar Leona.
If you haven’t yet tried Bar Leona, you’re missing out on a great dining experience, (sister restaurant to PRIMA- another favorite of ours)!

Wow! We stop today at New Smyrna to enjoy the tranquility, walking around we found Bar Leona, we checked the menu founding that it is a Italian restaurant and not Spanish as we thought.
The service, warm and friendly. She sold the menu as spouse to be.
The restaurant itself is cozy and calm, simple and nicely decorated with a lot of natural light.
The food was beyond expectation. We do not do pasta, and we gave it a chance anyway, wow after a great lunch and good Italian wine our lunch was a total success. For sure we are going again in the future.

Bar Leona is fantastic! It’s a family-owned gem with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff work seamlessly as a team, and the bar staff in particular are incredibly attentive and wonderful—making you feel right at home. Their teamwork really elevates the experience, and the food is absolutely amazing. A perfect spot for top-notch Italian cuisine and a cozy wine bar vibe.

We’ve wanted to try Bar Leona for a while and finally had the opportunity to stop for a late lunch. We sat outside to enjoy some warm weather and started with a bottle of Syrah. It paired beautifully with the burrata. Served with roasted red peppers, pesto and a balsamic glaze that I could eat with a spoon, it was delicious. My partner had the spicy Italian sandwich and I had the mortadella; both served on warm crusty focaccia. We both took half of our sandwiches home because we wanted to try the pistachio cake. So glad we did. Wonderful. Thanks to Bonnie for outstanding service;
you made a great day even better.

Excellent Italian dishes & quite pleased on our visit. I found the pear sacchetti very tasty and to my liking. The staff is extremely attentive. The bar is warm and inviting, but I found it necessary to use my phone to illuminate the menu. More micro brews and less of the major beer oligarchies (Miller, Bud, Stella, etc.) would round out the finer beer choices.

We love going to this local restaurant. Always fresh and so good. Tonight we enjoyed the snapper, shrimp, linguine special and the Pear Sacchetti. Oh and we started with the meatballs. Delicious! And the wines are wonderful with nice size pours. We will be back again and again!

Nice little place with a great staff. Limited menu but the several specials made up for it. Need more dude food selections. We had the lobster ravioli special and the shrimp diavolo. Good size portions and quite reasonably priced. Very abundant flavor. The broth in the mussels was one of the best. A bit warm inside for us guys. The staff were all attentive and very friendly and knowledgeable. Great job team.
