Sea Grill Coral Gables
Every time that I come to the Shops at Merrick Park, I definitely make a stop at the Sea Grill Coral Gables. From the gracious host, to the full staff, they are very attentive, friendly and professional. The atmosphere is Casual, in the patio and Elegant in the main dining room. The Food is a fusion between Italian and Greek even though they make sure that you have access to the authentic cuisine of either Italy or Greece. We visited the place with friends for a quick bite, The delicious “Lentil Soup,” before our main dinner, in the evening, at another restaurant. People always say that “nothing is perfect, and in this case we felt the same way. The place was not even busy and we asked for bread in repeated occasions, to different members of the staff, they never brought the bread. Just a short note to management, this could make a difference of a great experience to a good experience.

I was taken for my birthday this last Saturday and I was truly amazed at how delicious the food was. We were 9 and no one complained about anything. Our server Mikael went above and beyond to help me celebrate and created a beautiful plate of desserts for me. He was always making sure we had water at the table and wine was served chilled.

The chicken parmigiana was clearly reheated—the breast was tough and dry, almost inedible. Even worse, the $60 steak was one of the poorest cuts I’ve had in a long time: lacking flavor, overly fatty, riddled with tendons, and far from tender.

This was our first time dining here, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service from our server, Maikel. He made sure we were happy the entire time and treated us with genuine care. When my husband asked for a dinner recommendation, Maikel confidently said, “I got you, I’ll bring you something you’ll love,” and surprised him with a lobster plate. It was incredibly delicious and perfectly prepared. Between the outstanding food and Maikel’s wonderful service, our first visit was unforgettable, and definitely not our last!

I’ve given the Sea Grill at Merrick Park not one but two chances, and both visits were equally disappointing. At this point, I feel obligated to warn people so they don’t waste their time—or their money—the way I did.
If you care about good food, please skip this place. On both occasions, the dishes tasted like they were thrown together without any freshness or effort. Nothing had real flavor, nothing tasted remotely worth the price, and everything left the impression of being reheated, tired, or straight out of a can.
The only reason this place has any pulse at all is the team of genuinely wonderful servers who work far harder than the kitchen seems to. They were the one bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience.
Both times I visited, the pita tasted stale, the pizza was tough and unpleasant, and the pasta included ingredients that felt canned. And the prices? Absolutely outrageous for food that comes across this lifeless.
If the owners want this restaurant to survive, they seriously need to reevaluate what’s happening in the kitchen. As it stands now, this is easily one of the most consistently disappointing dining experiences I’ve had anywhere, and I strongly recommend people look elsewhere.

Been to Sea Grill many times. Last night did not disappoint. Food and service always excellent. Diverse menu. Not inexpensive but reasonably priced. Sat outside with heat lamps on and was very comfortable. Merrick Park always nice to shop in first and then dine afterwards. Will be back!

We just held my father’s 90th birthday celebration in the private room and everything was perfect. The manager (Robin) made everything easy by being so accommodating for all of our requests, the room was beautifully prepared with flowers and candleobras, and the entire staff anticipated everything. The service and food were outstanding and the entire experience was easy, pleasant, and didn’t break the bank relative to all that we ate and drank. I highly recommend holding your next event there!

We chose Sea Grill to host my baby shower. We had a wonderful experience. The restaurant manager, Robin, and his staff were very hands on throughout the whole experience, answering all of our questions and offering inspiration for our event based on past events they’ve hosted in the space. The event space is very elegant and private. We got several compliments throughout my baby shower regarding the space, the decor, as well as the staff and food. All our guests said the food was delicious and said the service was amazing. The staff made sure everyone’s drinks were topped at all times.
The only reason I gave 4 starts instead of 5 stars was because the owners decided to add large pink trees (not pictured) to the space 3 days before my event, and at that point there wasn’t anything Robin could do about it. It wasn’t the end of the world, but it went against the space’s original neutral decor that leant itself well to any event, including my blue-themed baby shower.

Came back here after a few years. Staff is lovely and friendly. Food is even more amazing. They added some delicious pasta items that really rounds out the menu. The interior design of the restaurant is fabulous, it is like a dream.
