It’s great that there’s a local restaurant/ brewery within the Rockaway area local being the key word as this isn’t going to be comparable to a much larger scale brewery or restaurant which has its pros and cons. The pros are that it’s not huge. It takes a small footprint and because of that it’s more economical. Both for your wallet as well as for the industry directly around it. I’d never heard of pelican brewing, but when we went in there we were glad to know that they also had non-alcoholic drinks which we were able to partake in. Specifically the root beer and the marionberry soda. It is likely that I would come back and visit this as Rockaway doesn’t have a lot of restaurant options and as long as this one stays in business, which it seems like it will. This makes a good solid choice and place to grab some food as well as a drink. I liked it every single item on the menu. They had a good pairing selection for wine or beer or another type of drink over all the atmosphere. Hair is kind of more like a bar/ pub. It’s very industrial looking both externally and internally. The one thing to note here is it’s kind of like self-service in the way of there’s no waiters or waitresses or hostesses. It’s come in. Order your food at the counter find a place to sit. There’s an open table and even if there’s not an open table, you can still order your food and most likely by the time it’s done within 15 to 20 minutes a table will hopefully open up. I love that they had outdoor seating right in front as well as the sides of the restaurant and because it’s not directly on the beachhead of the ocean there is some reprieve from the wind and colder weather that Oregon Coast is famous for. I would not note this as being a kid-friendly place, although there were lots of people including our family who had young children with them. There were only two high chairs that we saw while there, so there’s not going to be a whole lot of availability or options available if you’re coming with a large family or if there’s already kids there.
All the food here was better than average. I had gotten the brussel sprouts as well as the burger and an order of fish and chips. Everything was delicious, cooked very well. Nothing was bad flavor or texture and the portion size were kind of what you would pay for. Overall, if you’re looking for a decent place to get some good food, you won’t be disappointed by visiting pelican brewing, but do note that there are a few cons, mostly related to service and seating.

Another great location! So happy they opened this location recently in Rockaway Beach. This area could use more restaurant options, and Pelican Brewing is a perfect choice. The only drawback is the parking situation. They do have a small lot, but everything else around there is street parking.
There’s plenty of seating inside, including an upstairs area. They offer a nice variety of food and drink options. They offer beers on tap, and cans for purchase to takeaway.
Our group ordered burgers, tuna melt and fish & chips. We all enjoyed the fries; nice and crispy on the outside. Everyone enjoyed their food as well. They offered a nice portion for the money. We also ordered the cheese curds and brussel sprouts. Both were delicious!
Staff is super friendly, helpful and attentive. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. The front area where you order is pretty small and can get congested.
Overall we were very happy with our visit. We’re just so happy to have another food option in this area. Highly recommend.

We had an overall fantastic experience at the Pelican Brewing in Rockaway Beach. Our food came soon after ordering. I ordered the tuna melt with a salad, and my husband ordered the spicy burger with fries. My tuna melt was one of the best that I’ve had in long time and I husband really enjoyed his spicy burger and fries. Friendly staff and they kept up with clearing the tables so that more patrons could easily choose a seat.

Had such a good meal at Pelican brewing in Rockaway. I got the pork carnitas which were fresh and amazing. We also got wings to share at the table and they were cooked perfectly and so big. I will definitely be going back soon.

Sooo happy our little town has a new and solid year round business! I’ve been 3 times now and food has been very nice every visit. The nachos are great – LOVE their beer cheese sauce, and even better when you opt for the upcharge to add pulled pork. I also love that their salads and Brussel sprouts are really good, it can be hard to find good quality veggie dishes around here.

I will start by saying that it was very busy when we went 01/18, and the staff was very friendly.
However, the experience was incredibly disappointing overall. We have been coming to rockaway for years and were super excited to hopefully grab a meal of the same caliper and high quality offered by the pacific city location at this new spot. That was not the case. This restaurant had more of a pub style set up with a smaller menu, but the prices are still very high. We paid 80 ish dollars (including tip) for wings, a burger, cheese curds, two sodas, and a tiny serving of clam chowder.
My burger was very dry and didn’t come out very hot, my husband received barbecue wings when he ordered buffalo, and compared to the other locations the price of the clam chowder seems outrageous. I will say the fries and cheese curds were pretty good, but still when you are paying that much money you expect your mains to at least taste good even if it’s more of a pub style. The prices should reflect the quality.

My husband, four friends and I, enjoyed a wonderful visit, food and drink at the Pelican in Rockaway Beach. We started with 3 appetizers, the cheese curds, seasoned brussel sprouts and chicken wings. All of our appetizers were excellent and perfectly prepared. Our drinks were delicious. I had the bubbly in a can, I was surprised how tasty it was. My husband and friends enjoyed dark beers . We also ordered burgers, all were delicious. We look forward to many future visits at the Pelican. A great meeting place, with quality food, and great drinks.

Order at the counter and take a peeper and pick up your food at the pickup window when ready? Mediocre food at a premium price. I ordered a nearly $5 rootbeer because you can’t go wrong with that and boy was I disappointed. It was flat and tasted like soap and I couldn’t even drink it. I also ordered the fish and chips which was also disappointing. The breading on the fish was thick and hard to bit through or break apart and the fish was itself was well overcooked. The fries are ok but nothing special. The lady at the counter was nice and the place was cute and clean but they need to work on the acoustics you can hear everyone in the place word for word. They have a bus cart for you to clean up after yourself an not 1 person come to my table or anyone else’s to ask about there food or if they needed anything. While they have all the condiments under the pickup counter along with silverware and I big jug for you to get water there is no servers what so ever and extremely overpriced for the experience and sub-par food

Was expecting a more sit down experience without having to order at the counter. We ordered 2 appetizers, fish and chips, and a salad. All of the food arrived at once, and the appetizers were cold, as well as the fries. It was incredibly overpriced for the experience we had. And honestly, bar food should not be that expensive. We ate at a dive bar the next day for half as much, with actual table service. Their food was hot and delicious.
