Jeg elsker det!!! Wow, delicious food and wonderful atmosphere. I felt transported to Danmark. The frikadiller was outstanding.
No, it’s not the Danish Inn I grew up on; but it is a wonderful place. 🙂

First time visitors to the area. New place decorated nicely. Service was good. Food was very good. Considered the Sunday brunch at $15.99 as it looked good and all appeared to be made from scratch. I had the Iowa breaded pork sandwich and home cut French fries. Sandwich was huge and tasty and fries were good. Tried the bacon aioli on the sandwich. It was good. Sandwich was huge, almost too much. Wife had the chicken sandwich that she expected to be grilled but it was also fried and a large portion. Price for the sandwiches was good. Some items almost ordered a la cartel and could be pricey to get a complete meal. Would return if in the area.

To complete your visit to the charming town of Elk Horn, Iowa, you should really stop by this restaurant. It offers yummy Danish cuisine at a reasonable price. And bring your appetite. Big portions. Popular place on a Saturday night, so I was glad they took our reservation. Enjoyed the whole dining experience thoroughly.

Wow. Been hearing about The Danish Table since it opened and finally had a chance to eat there today. Food was some of the best I’ve ever had. I’m Danish heritage and grew up eating this type of food. This as authentic as it gets. Everything is made from scratch. The aukavit was the best I’ve ever had. And yes, made from scratch. They
even sell a small bottle with all the spices so all you need to do is add your own potato vodka. I bought it. Can’t wait!
Bringing a gentleman from Denmark later this month to Elk Horn. Can’t wait to eat here again with him and get his opinion.

Do not let the 7 mile trip from I-80 dissuade you. This is a “must eat at” destination, especially if you enjoy traditional Danish cuisine. The food is fantastic, the portions are just right, and the price is even better. Drove all the way from Omaha just to eat here. Totally worth it!

Excellent Danish delights like frikadeller and aebleskiver as well as awesome specialty burgers and dinners. Good salads, too. A unique and enjoyable dining experience. Everyone in our group loved their food both times we have been there. Definitely going again when we are in the area.

My fiancé’s father is a devout fan of the Danes, and raves about this spot. He took us out the first night in town and we drove an hour for the fantastic food and atmosphere. I had the shrimp/bacon fry appetizer, curry pork meatballs, aquavit Moscow mule, sin cake, and finished with a cappuccino. I’m absolutely content and full of joy from the meal and company.
I won’t forget this place, and will make a trip back out when we return.

Went for the first time tonight and looking forward to the next time! We had the fries to start that I would call Danish poutine. Danish meatballs were excellent. I was full but had a bite of sin pie and wished I had more room, it was my favorite.

This is a combination review for 4 visits. The first visit I requested a hamburger well done as did my husband. It came with a cold middle. Husband’s was fine. Sent mine back and got the same thing. Told server. No offer to compensate me. Paid full price and took it home to the dog.

Second visit got a tenderloin. It was excellent. All the food was.

Third visit, we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Had the kids and grandkids from out of town. We wanted a nice place for a meal and to impress our family with Elk Horn. We arrived at 12:30. They dont close till 2:00. All of the buffet warmers were empty except one that had dried meat stuck to the bottom. We waited awhile assuming someone would refill them. Several other people also kept checking. Finally about 1::00 our server said they wouldn’t be bringing anymore out but we could just tell her what we wanted and they’d cook it for us. Don’t know what the other folks did. (Well the fam was impressed but not the way we’d hoped. Won’t be taking anyone there again!

Fourth visit was pleasant . Enjoyed visiting with James. Food came quickly and was perfectly prepared.

Overall the atmosphere is nice and staff are welcoming and efficient.

The two rating was because of the disastrous buffet experience. I could let the raw hamburger slide but not the awful buffet experience. Hope things get better.
