We stopped at Trattoria di Montaluce for dinner after a hike at Amicalola State Park with my friend and my Australian Shepherd. When we first arrived, we were told we couldn’t sit inside because of the dog and that we could sit outside and order at the bar. Once outside, I asked for the heaters to be turned on, but no one came. When I asked again, I was told they were broken which was disappointing on a cold January evening.
Things felt confusing at first, as different staff members gave us different information. We were told we could only be served food in to-go boxes and would need to pick it up ourselves. When I explained we were hoping for a proper sit-down dinner with regular plates, the response initially felt a little awkward and unaccommodating.
Thankfully, a manager named Ray stepped in and really turned the experience around. He let us know we could be served outside and suggested moving to the outdoor bar area where the heaters actually worked (something no one else had mentioned). From that point on, things improved a lot. Our server was very nice, and Ray genuinely tried his best to accommodate us given that we had a dog.
As for the food, I enjoyed my Caesar salad and the pasta with chicken. The calamari, however, had quite a lot of breading and was a bit dry for my taste. Overall, while the beginning of the evening was frustrating and disorganized, the effort from manager Ray and the good parts of the meal ultimately made it a positive experience.

Fabulous service and food. Lily our server was so sweet and very attentive. The Food and Beverage manager Jay, spent at least 30 minutes with us making sure our guest experience was like no other. So so so very impressed. A must !!! Not to mention the beauty and atmosphere of Monteluece Winery is amazing and stunning.

The atmosphere was nice with all the windows and the view of the pond. Service was wonderful. The food we ordered was a pepperoni pizza and meatballs with spaghetti. The pizza unfortunately was greasy from the pepperoni and very soft in the middle. The spaghetti and large meatballs we okay. The meatballs we great but spaghetti was not as great.

If you are debating between going to the Trattoria restaurant or the Monteluce restaurant up above, I urge you to choose Trattoria. I came here for a trip this past weekend and went 2 nights in a row. First night I went to Monteluce restaurant, waited 40 minutes for a server to even come to my table to bring me water, and then when I was ready to order they told me they had just ran out of the entree I wanted. So I had to settle for an entirely different meal and when it came it was not very good and portion was terrible. I was able to sit outside and it was a gorgeous view, but truly nothing, nothing, beats the Trattoria pizzas, pastas, and outside experience. The winery is gorgeous and to walk around is beautiful. I highly recommend a reservation ahead of time or even the same day, just do it before you get there or you will have to wait. I did not have a reservation when I arrived so I quickly made one online and then walked around the vineyard and enjoyed the sunset for an hour as I waited to be seated. I enjoyed my time so much it didn’t even feel like I was waiting. The Monteluce brand wine was delicious and perfect in the way it wasn’t too sweet or too bitter. The vodka sauce penne was AMAZING and some of the best pasta I have ever had. Quattro formaggio and Marguerita were delicious as well! I recommend skipping the cookie skillet. Tasted underdone and gritty.
Overall I would love to come back and this has been possibly the best dinner experience I’ve had in my life. Thank you!

Had an amazing experience celebrating here. We had Jaxon as our server and he was so sweet and helpful he gave the best recommendations and made the experience so much more special and romantic. And the pasta and meatballs and burrata caprese were absolutely incredible.

My bf and I went here after watching a Netflix movie, and I realized the winery scenes were filmed up there. This is my second time on property, but first time eating at Trattoria. I’ve eaten at the other restaurant previously. My bf and I went around 6:30pm and stayed until around 8:30pm. The hostess was polite when we first walked in. Then we went to the outside bar because it was so beautiful and we wanted to walk around outside. Before we left we went back to Trattoria to get some drinks. Katie waited on us and was amazing! She was working hard making everyone’s drinks but still was very attentive to us and kind. She engaged in conversation with us and never made us feel like we were bothering her, although she had other drinks to make. She was an amazing bar tender and everyone should ask for her. She made me a filthy martini, which was delicious. My bf got an old fashioned. My bf got a pepperoni pizza to go. He enjoyed it. It was fine to me. The pepperoni they used were good. I just didn’t like the brick over burnt taste on the dough, but that’s personal preference. It’s a beautiful place to visit regardless.

Austin Evans was our server. He was exceptional. He explained the cocktails with great detail that made them sound too good not to order, and they were just as good as he explained. He was very helpful when ordering food, knowing the menu well. He made sure everything was to our liking. We had a pleasant and enjoyable experience at Monte Luce Trattoria. Be sure to ask for Austin, you will not be disappointed. The Manager Ray was friendly and made sure our experience was a good one .
