I gotta say, fortune house is definitely a strong choice when one is seeking out Chinese style cuisine in the area. Decided to order takeout for an easy dinner and I was quite pleased with the food! Ordered the beef fried rice with a side of pork potstickers. Came out to $18, about what I expected. The fried rice was savory and full of seasonings with tender beef. The potstickers were juicy and crispy which I appreciated. This restaurant is always busy though, so be prepared for a hectic lobby when you walk in hahaha. Overall, a solid choice for a Chinese takeout/dine in spot in the area.

First time trying this place since our usual spot was not taking orders. We waited a long time for our pick-up order. The portion sizes felt off, with not enough chicken compared to the veggies. The shrimp fried rice we ordered was very bland. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I will not be returning. I don’t think I’ve ever had chinese food that was this bad.

It’s a shame that they can’t figure out how to move things faster here. Either they don’t have staff or the cook is simply not a professional. It takes SO LONG to get food ready here. Expect an hour minimum.
The food is fantastic tho.
To the management; be honest about how long the wait is for crying out loud. This is the second time Ive been told a half hour, only to be waiting well over an hour! Terrible customer service. You don’t offer an apology, don’t offer any consolation, like extra appetizer? Cookie? Drinks? Have you guys ever visited another restaurant to see how things are done?
Seriously, hire some help for your kitchen please!

Pretty much what you’d expect from an Americanized Chinese restaurant in Northwest Indiana, only a bit higher quality. Employees were friendly, service was quick, and the food was decent. The beef satay appetizer was great, but the Szechuan Chicken was severely lacking. It was slimy and was missing any distinct features of a traditional Szechuan Chicken. It didn’t have the Szechuan peppercorns or numbing sensation you’d want from it unfortunately.

My husband and I have gotten food from here twice. We both like the fried rice& he like the orange chicken but to me they give you very little amount of vegetables and rice for the money you pay. I am vegan and I like to get stream vegetables in my fried rice. I got the small vegetarian dish special for $6.50 and it was not what I expected. It looks like soup instead of stream vegetables. I will not order vegetable dish again.

Could very well be the best Chinese food in the NWI area, hands down. They’re friendly and their food is amazingly delicious. The head waiter, Paul, is AMAZING! The authentic Chinese menu is phenomenal. I’ve also used their delivery many times. They are fast and service their customers well with large portions. Yummy food for sure!

I’ve been living in this area for 6yrs now and always wanted to try this place and I regret that I did. I ordered a small beef fried rice spicy and a veggie egg roll. The inside texture of the egg roll was mushy, the rice was mushy and the beef was mushy as well. I took 2 bites of the egg roll and a few forks of the rice. My mouth instantly got watery and stomach felt sick indicating I was about to vomit… and that’s exactly what I did. I just threw everything away. $10 down the drain. The food was horrible and I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
