Just returned from a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday in Chicago. After enjoying an amazing Thanksgiving dinner with my family, I decided to switch things up and try some Latin food. Visiting friends on the South Side, we stumbled upon a charming little spot on Archer called “Xocome.” The restaurant may be small, but it boasts some of the best food I’ve ever tasted.
With so many tempting options, we decided to order a few dishes to share. We kicked things off with the Popusa de chicharon with frijoles—simply delicious. The Pambazo torta was equally impressive, but the standout for all of us was the Pollo con tajada. This dish, featuring chicken, shredded cabbage, and plantains, was phenomenal.
If you’re ever in the Archer area, Xocome is a must-try, especially since they also offer a variety of vegetarian options. This place is definitely worth a visit, and I will make it a point to return on my next trip to Chicago.

The food was incredible. Everything came out hot and fresh. We had two gorditas one of pibil and the other of mushrooms which were divine. The steak quesadilla could easily feed 4 people and the steak was season so well and perfectly cooked. The pupusas were delicious as well and the sauce it came with was incredible. 100/10 would recommend. Please come support this small spot because their food is to die for, I will absolutely be back.

Incredible place with great interesting vegetarian options. I had the mushroom taco, squash blossom taco, and huitlacoche taco. The Huitlacoche was INCREDIBLE. The mushroom was really great (a good rich umami flavor), squash blossom was very yummy and lighter tasting. My partner got the Pambazo and he loved it! Also a very neat bathroom which is fun. Highly recommend for vegetarians and omnivores!

Popped in here the other day, and all potential expectations were met and exceeded. I got steak tacos and my girlfriend got the enchiladas. The homemade tortillas were delicious and held up the tacos I got with no problem, portions were generous and the flavors were on point. Exactly what I was looking for! Preciate you guys and the love yall put into the food!

we ordered the birria tacos and the pombazo. i didnt get a picture of the pombazo because we digged into it immediately. This place is AMAZING. flavors were on point, we will definitely be back!

The food was excellent. There are many vegetarian options available. I tried the cactus taco, a mushroom gordita and a jalapeno n cheese papusa. The portions are large and filling. My favorite was between the gordita which was very juicy and flavorful and the jalapeno cheese papusa. Definitely try the sauces! The space was small but cozy. Service was great too.

The first time I tried their tacos a friend did take out and grab me two steak tacos. Those tacos were so delicious fresh made tortilla the meat tasted fresh great seasoning just very good quality meat. The second time I when I dine in I got a strawberry milkshake, which was delicious right on point. I had two steak tacos again Very fresh delicious fresh made tortilla. I would highly recommend this place. The food is good and I am gonna go back to try more other items.

This restaurant is a perfect example of allowing the food to speak for itself. Modest dining room seems more inclined to take out than dine-in, but the server was attentive and charismatic none the less.
Blue masa tortillas are a must, and the pambaso was delicious too. Everything had the right kick and so much flavor. We will be back!

You want good tacos? Come here!! I’m from Wisconsin and just left the airport and came here and I can say this is a legit Mexican spot for food.! Got tacos, pupusa and this pambazo and none of it disappointed ! You won’t regret it
