I also remember that we didn’t like the cocktail we ordered, and they removed it from our bill, which was so kind of them — we really didn’t expect that at all!
In the meantime, my partner had tried the Lahori chicken kadai and kept telling me how amazing it was and that he could eat it every week! So that brought us back to Village Curry.
This time, we ordered the fish tikka, Lahori chicken kadai, rice, and fries. The quality of the food was excellent — very fresh and tasty. The service was amazing. Indians are wonderful hosts and truly know how to take care of their customers. The staff are very sweet and smiley, which makes me feel like I’m visiting family.
Five stars from me, for sure! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Just two small things to consider: it might take about 25 minutes for your food to be ready (which we don’t mind at all), and the portions are so big that you either need to order one dish to share or be ready to take leftovers home!
The Lamb (mutton on the menu) vindaloo was the best we’ve ever had.
Generous portions and very friendly staff.
Nicely presented with attention to detail. Very reasonably priced.
Will most definitely return!
We dined in, and were immediately greeted warmly and shown to our table. It wasn’t too busy on a Friday night, but the people that were there looked like regulars.
All the dishes we ordered was great starting w the lager on tap (yum). Local BC brew.
For food, we had the tandoori paneer and chaat masala to start. Both were delicious. The paneer especially was soft, marinated well and beautifully cooked in the tandoor.
For dinner we had the paneer tikka masala and Lahore chicken along with garlic and butter naan. All of it was so flavorful, that we took an extra dish as takeaway for the missing person in our party.
The service was quick, the server was patient and we had nothing go wrong with our orders.
Overall – we would go again!
FYI – parking may be tight here but it’s def walkable with sidewalks in a small strip that has other restaurants.
Returned for my second visit, and had the vegetarian dinner thali! – enough food for two people easily. They offered to pre-pack some of the meal because they knew I would not be able to eat it – Excellent service ! Some of the best shai paneer I have ever had, and the naan is amazing, crispy on outside, soft on the inside, and NOT chewy! (Pic Added)
Village Curry absolutely deserves a five-star rating. This outstanding Indian restaurant really impressed us with its food and service. It’s hard to beat a good butter chicken curry—and they offered two versions: classic and traditional. My wife and I tried one of each, and while both were tasty, the traditional version was the clear winner. The classic had more of a tomato soup vibe, but the traditional packed those rich, authentic Indian flavors I was hoping for.
The garlic naan was top-notch—crispy, flavorful, and generously sized. It paired perfectly with the curry and was easily one of the highlights of the meal.
We had our toddler with us, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. They were warm, welcoming, and incredibly patient, even when we left behind a bit of a mess (sorry about that!). It’s always a relief to find a place that treats families with genuine hospitality.
If you’re in the area and craving Indian food, Village Curry is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back if given the opportunity. Ino stop.
