Located on Railroad Street, which is the heart of Downtown Danville. This is a must visit award winning, French bakery. Known for their delicious, crispy croissants. I recommend their regular croissants, but their lemon meringue is absolutely amazing! I also tried their savory hot dog croissant, which was more like an Italian sausage, spicy and juicy. They can heat up this dish for another 5 minutes delay, but worth the wait. Be sure to enjoy a vanilla latte with your pastries.

Finally, got the almond croissants that aren’t sold out for once, but I’m highly disappointed. For $7 each, it appeared burnt, flat and small.
Taste was not that great. It wasn’t flaky at all- like I said it was very flat and didn’t look like a croissant. Their butter croissant looked way better but I didn’t try that. I also wasn’t asked if it was for here or to go so we were just eating from our paper bag. (We noticed they asked other guests)

I’ve tried other authentic French bakeries that don’t cost as much and tasted way better. Overall, we won’t return.

I gave them 3 stars because normally they’re a 5….but this visit is a 1. We drive 70 miles and wait in long lines to come get their chocolate croissants and pain suisse, often. Yesterday I picked up 2 chocolate croissants and 4 pain suisse and every single one of them was dry and not buttery at all. In fact they were the worst croissants I’ve ever had. I’ve purchased many and have had them a day or two after and they’ve always been excellent. I ate these the same day of purchase and it’s as if they were a week old. I really hope that they’ll be better next time.

Hands down the best croissant I’ve had in ages – impossibly flaky layers, buttery perfection in every bite. The canelé was caramelized and custardy inside, and the baguette? Crisp, chewy, and full of flavor – was not ‘rock hard’ like other places.
Truly worth going out of your way for!

Looking for an afternoon pick me up, we stumbled upon this fine bakery located in the heart of Danville.
They have a variety of bakery options on display as soon as you walk-in. I had the “pain suisse” (fresh and tasty French croissant style pastrywith cream and chocolate chips).
We had a cappuccino and a cortado. Both were expertly prepared.
The indoor dining area was like walking into someone’s house. Well placed couches and tables made it feel very cozy and inviting.
Would highly recommend this bakery for anyone in the area.

Wasn’t that impressed with the croissants. The ones from Arsicault Bakery in San Francisco are much lighter, flakier, and delicate. While I was disappointed, the food was still very good. It just didn’t live up to the hype that I had been hearing about it.

We ordered a bunch of different pastries and sandwiches and nothing was bad but after reading the reviews and coming out this way just to try it, I was disappointed. Even the sandwiches weren’t warmed up so overall I was disappointed.

Once again, don’t get me wrong, none of the food was bad. In fact, comparing it to the average cafe this is very good, but from all the accolades and write up, my experience didn’t meet my expectations and I wouldn’t make a trip just for the croissants. Initially I only gave it 3 stars, but after thinking about it, that wasn’t very fair because the food is still very good and better than your average cafe experience. If you’re in thee area, its definitely worth a try.

This morning my wife and I drove from Lafayette to buy an assortment of breads and pastries for a Sunday brunch. Everything was delicious as usual EXCEPT my favorite item The smoked salmon tartine. The salmon tasted OLD and fishy. Definitely Not what I have experienced in the many times I’ve had before. I suggest the manager investigate this today as it was most unusual!!

This place recently won Best Croissant in San Francisco, and after visiting a few times, I can see why. The croissants are excellent, and they offer a wide variety of pastry options. Even when there’s a line, it usually moves pretty fast.

My son loved their vegetarian quiche, and I really enjoyed it as well. They have a good selection of vegetarian options and are fairly kid-friendly in terms of food choices. I wouldn’t recommend dining in if you have very young kids, but aside from that, it’s a great place and definitely worth a visit.

It was my first time visiting, and I had a wonderful experience! The bakery is charming, with a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for spending time with friends. We ordered a variety of items, including dessert, coffee, hot chocolate, a veggie quiche, and a breakfast plate. The food was delicious, and the quality exceeded expectations. Everything was prepared quickly, which was a nice surprise. The outdoor dining area is an added bonus, allowing for a relaxed and pleasant experience, especially on a nice day. Overall, it’s a great spot to enjoy good food, great company, and a welcoming environment. I’ll definitely be back!

Super delicious and soft pastries, a huge variety as well. We ordered multiple sweet and savory and they were all amazing! Coffee was good as well. Line was very long when we arrived but went by extremely fast.
