Strings of lights adorn this 1920s-style cocktail bar with an exposed-brick interior & pool table.

My husband and I absolutely love going to The Blind Elephant in downtown Wilmington. It’s become one of our favorite spots for a date night. From the cozy speakeasy atmosphere, dim lighting, and vintage vibe you genuinely feel like you’ve teleported to another time!
The cocktails are amazing (the pictures speak for themselves)! Plus the service is great, you can tell the bartenders genuinely know their craft and take pride in every drink they serve.
Five stars everyday! This place is generally one of the best kept secrets of Wilmington. We honestly can’t rave about it enough! ✨

This place is not just a bar. Its a vibe. You pay a yearly membership which cost less than a drink or a fast food burger. This seems to eliminate clientele looking for cheap drinks and a quick time. The cocktails that have been created are delish. I would have never paired flavors that way. Classic cocktails are given just as much attention to the owns that have been created. Even when people are overflowing around you can nestle into a corner booth and chat with your friend or date. I love coming here when we visit. You will not be disappointed if you actually are able to see the quality and attention that is given to each customer every time.

The Blind Elephant is my favorite bar in Wilmington! We had my 50th Birthday Celebration there! If you love a speakeasy type atmosphere this is your place! If you love bourbon this is your place. It may be packed but that shows you how much it is loved! The bartenders are excellent and will take care of you! It is worth your wait, enjoy the atmosphere if the piano player is there enjoy that too! If you come in just wanting a drink and get mad about the service when it is a packed house and the establishment is doing what they can. Please go to another bar to get your drink as there are many in town if you aren’t there for the experience.

Love love love The Blind Elephant! One of our go to spots every time we come downtown. They have a wide variety of cocktails and have a rotating seasonal menu as well. Every drink we have had is a flavor bomb of deliciousness. All of the staff and bartenders are so friendly and so knowledgeable. You can tell that a lot of love and passion go into their drinks here. They always have a ton of events, this video was from their Christmas in July event but every time you walk in, it’s a vibe! Beautiful 1920s inspired and they have a live piano! Perfect for date nights or hang outs with friends. Named one of the Best Bars in the country and for good reason! Truly a wonderful spot with delicious cocktails, amazing people, and speakeasy vibes.

One of my favorite cocktail bars in all of downtown Wilmington, hands down!! Their originally crafted cocktails never disappoint. The atmosphere is relaxed yet fun. I love how they always play old black and white movies on the wall, which really adds to the speak-easy vibe. We rented out the top loft area for my husband’s 30th birthday back in early 2020 (pre Covid!) and had an amazing 1920s themed party – SO FUN!!

My friends and I came to purchase a membership before an event we plan on attending in the future. I can’t tell you what a fabulous evening we had. The service at the bar was spot on, the chocolate martinis, so fantastic, we all got a second round! There is not other bar like this in Wilmington! Staff was excellent from the front door forward. O Our cocktails were made with care and precision. I noticed bartenders, keeping up with the pace of drink orders very well. Unique atmosphere and cool vibe. Y’all don’t wanna miss this place for a fun evening out.

This place was incredible. For a cocktail person, their menu was amazing. In particular, the seasonal Cabin Fever was amazing. It was subtle and balanced with nothing overpowering the drink. If you’re into craft cocktails and in Wilmington, this is a must do.

Awesome speakeasy style bar tucked down an alley. We love sending people there. It’s such a hidden gem in downtown. Creative and ever changing drinks (that curry daiquiri , bring it back sometime), cool bartenders, old school mobster art, a piano player some nights… This place just drips coolness. Our date nights downtown always end up here for a drink or two. I haven’t tried them, but my wife loves the mocktail options since she’s still nursing the baby. This place is a solid 11/10.

One of my favorite locations downtown! I love the live music and the old movies playing and the drinks never ever miss. It has been such an amazing experience every time I visit and recently, I got to know Kevin the bartender and he made my visits even better!! I didn’t know I could have a better time! The drinks are curated with careful attention, it’s not your typical beer and a sticky bar top. As someone born and raised here, I would tell anyone to go to the blind elephant if they’re looking to impress someone or even themselves. 10/10.

We absolutely love it here! I’ve lived in LA and Providence- both which are famously crafted cocktail centric cities and I truly think The Blind Elephant blows both cities out of the water. The bartenders are always attentive, work so hard and are passionate about their craft and you can tell! We look forward to their new seasonal menus and can’t wait to taste the new concoctions they’ve created! Honestly sometimes I think “I’m not into gin” or “I’m not into Vodka” yet every time their cocktails are so balanced it doesn’t matter if you don’t like the base liquor because you aren’t focusing on it. Truly a gem and we feel so lucky to have it here!!!! Also we love the TCM playing and the live music is always perfect. It’s just truly such a vibe! Also to note the “membership” may seem weird for anyone not local to NC but it’s a North Carolina law that if you only serve alcohol and not liquor it has to be membership only! Something to keep in mind in case you’re not familiar with the NC laws and regulations.
