Be advised: despite the stock photo, this is not a freestanding Popeyes! It is an interior, food court-esque location that is part of the larger truck stop.
Got lunch here on a long road trip, and it served our needs well. Everything was clean, and there was plenty of seating both around Popeyes and in more shared common areas. Not much of a line around noon on a Sunday. Staff were friendly, and food was ready in good time.
Ordered a 3pc spicy tenders meal with fries, a 5pc mild tenders meal witu red beans & rice, and a strawberry lemonade. All were good, and fairly fresh. They did not have the seasonal lemonade for some reason, nor did they have Blackened Ranch dipping sauce (and they mentioned it’s being phased out entirely, sad to say). They were very understanding and flexible with appropriate subsitutions, though.

Gourmand
While service leaves much to be desired and atmosphere is quite basic and a little dirty, the food is too notch. Our chicken was freshly made. It was incredibly crispy and piping hot! The crunch was outstanding as well, and flavor was on point.

It’s been a while since I ordered at Popeyes but I was in the mood for a hot meal. This Popeyes location does not carry breakfast so I ordered 2 classic chicken thighs and a large side of rice and beans. As another review has mentioned sauces here are an extra charge EXCEPT Popeyes sauce which is free. PROS: The service was better than at other Popeyes locations which are usually poor elsewhere. The flavor and crispness of the fried chicken was fresh, very flavorful and Popeyes always has consistently good tasting fried chicken in my opinion. The rice and beans and biscuit were delicious and best of all, I actually think the free Popeyes dipping sauce actually tasted good with a hint of chipotle in it maybe. Honestly the fried chicken here is so good, it doesn’t need sauce. CONS: My chicken thigh pieces were very small. Overall I was glad I had Popeyes for lunch and will just have to order 3 pieces instead of 2 next time I guess.

I ordered a Large Mashed Potatoes & Gravy. What I was given is pictured below …
So … umm … only 1 out of 4 people get gravy with their mashed potatoes?! For $7, thats ridiculous.
I checked thru the rest of the bag. There is not a separate gravy. Just that small little bit on top.
Buyer beware. They cut corners and rip people off. Pretty insulting to over charge to begin with. And then not even give an ample amount per person … wont be giving y’all my business again.
*** The workers were pleasant and my food was made quickly.
My issue is with management, making people pay MORE for LESS.

First of all I want to thank Matt for being a responsible employee and attending to my claim. After 14 hours of work I stopped to order 12 pieces of chickens which I like dark the employee told me that by instructions of the manager she could not take my order this is on a Sunday at 5:30pm because it was a store rule no popeyes nationwide can force any customer to pick up what the restaurant wants, that is not the restaurant call you guys are there to served us. Thanks to Matt for do the right thing at the end I eat what I want to eat and he did not follow the crazy instructions of a manager that does not know how to serve its customers. Thank you, Matt
Corporate need to teach this unprofessional Manager to follow the proper procedures and be aware of the consequences of this behavior. Truckers are the backbone of this Nation.

Stopped here on the way to Charlottesville. Was a little hard getting into and out of (because of the trailers). But the food was good and the staff was friendly, super fast service. Would recommended only downside is all the trucks.

The Assistant manger ! Ride as hell told me that I have to wait 30mins for a 4pcs meal they placed a meal on counter were you wouldn’t think to ask ! Then after about 15 mins they want to say what the order was I asked politely if it could be fresh cause it been sitting an that’s what I paid for she got upset & got argumentative asked for her name and General mangers name to relate what transpired , I stated I wasn’t going to wait 30 mins for a 4pcs meal because she didn’t hand out the order to me . I just letting others know so there aware of her unprofessionalism !

Stopped here after filling up gas while we were on a long, cross-country trip and it was the worst mistake! We ordered at 6:49pm and got our food at 7:19pm!!! (Pics of our receipt showing the order time and then when we got in our car 30 seconds after finally receiving our food)
There was a crowd of other exasperated customers along with me at this truck stop that were equally angry. There were no less than 4 employees working and they seemed to be moving around doing something in the front and back, but no food was making its way to the customers. The girl that took our order was polite and prompt with her service, but that’s where the whole experience took a turn for the ridiculous. Adding a half hour to our trip for some “fast” food was not in the plan and I don’t recommend anyone in any sort of hurry go to this Popeye’s!
