This is one of the best experiences I have had in an Atlanta restaurant. Often times when I go out to eat, I find that places are too gimmicky or more concerned about making money from your service rather than providing actual service. The first time I came here it was super cold. It might’ve even been a little rainy, but I knew it was cold and they were closed, but they opened the doors to my friend and I. They were so welcoming, and it was such a beautiful experience. We had the fufu tacos, which was delicious. I came back later to bring another friend here to try it out and they enjoyed it very much as well. The service was also very friendly the second time around. Chauncey is a man with a very big heart and unique recipes. His staff Embody such a warm and caring demeanor that you just don’t see anymore. These days spending money is kind of crazy in this economy, but if I was gonna spend it somewhere, I would always feel good about spending it here. The drink drinks and the palm butter wings are phenomenal. Also, he purifies the water himself because he wants to make sure his guests have quality and know he does not charge for that. Such beautiful and amazing people.

I have been watching this place for some time. I’m in town to see family and I had to make sure I stop by. I reached out to the owner and he responded promptly and secured my reservation. I had a party of 4. There are a few things on the menu I wanted to have. The decor gives a mix of Afro and Caribbean vibe. I also love how he has an open view of the kitchen. I walked in and decided, not to sit in the dinning room but at the bar in the back instead. This is where I recommend you sit when you visit. He is right in front of you cooking the food. He is also also engaging you and telling you his passion behind why he created the dish. He has taken Liberian food to an elevated level.
So now what we had. I rate all 10 because EVERYTHING he made was out of this world. We had the Palmbutter Wings, Brown Sugar Ginger Plantains, Cassava Fries, the Corn, Fufu Chips, the Suya (he gave us on the house) the Coconut Shrimp Pasta, Potato Greens, and the Cassava Leaf. We all shared this and the portions are very generous. For dessert he recommend his Peanut Butter Ice Cream and Milk Candy which is condensed milk. You pour the hot milk candy over the ice cream and you have the mix of hot and cold. He also makes a ginger candy he brought out on the house for us. The ginger is so fresh it gives an unexpected kick. As a Liberian, I was in owe with how he has taken our dishes we all grew up on and added his spin to it. Now you see all the food we shared, this place does not break the bank. You get great food, no AMAZING food, in a spot with positive vibes, personal service, and your wallet is not impacted.
I have family in Atlanta, I will def stop here every time I’m in town. Add this to your list.

I visited Chauncey’s Kitchen on a Sunday evening and was unimpressed overall. Unfortunately the Sunday dinner menu is limited, but we were not informed until the time we were ready to place our orders, at which point some of us had to select a different menu item. I had the fufu tacos and it could have been better with some salt, which was unfortunately unavailable since our salt shaker was empty. Overall, I didn’t enjoy the tacos especially because each taco only had about 2 pieces of suya (I ordered beef tacos). I did taste the suya and jollof rice from my friend which was flavorful. The cassava fries were good, but again could have used some salt to really top off the flavor.

Came here randomly for lunch just as the owner was opening up shop. He warmly welcomed us in and had us sit right at the bar where you can sit in the kitchen and we all talked and got to know each other and about the restaurant. The experience was surreal, It felt like being at your homie’s crib as he lights up the grill. My friend got the jollof burrito which is big enough to feed 2-3 people and apparently slapped! I got the fufu tacos which at first thought I’d still be hungry but the fufu tortilla is quite filling and the shrimp was seasoned perfectly. Will definitely come back again!

Just WOW!!! A culinary experience worth having. As a Liberian who has moved away from eating our traditional home dishes for many years, I was not really excited when I was invited to give Chauncy’s Kitchen a try. But….let me say
I was not ready for what came next. An explosion of culinary magic with what I would call Liberian fusion. You can tell just from the presentation that he is passionate about what he does. His level of creativity with the twist on traditional Liberian dishes is unmatched. Every bite was mouth watering, from cassava leaf dip with cassava( yuca) parmesan fries to the sweet ginger plantains. The fufu tacos are amazing, the palm butter wings are incredible and jollof rice…OMG! This is not a fast food experience (fresh made to order) so you will need to exercise patience but it is certainly worth the wait. The seasonings are carefully chosen and wakes up every taste bud. I was left speechless with an occasional hmmmmm..
I am in awe of his culinary gifts, talents and ability to transform our favorite Liberian dishes into culinary masterpieces. Coming from a skeptic, this is a must try for anyone and everyone who wants to experience something new..
Thanks Chef for a wonderful experience. May God continue to bless the work of your hands and may the world come to experience your gift.

So I found a nice lil restaurant at a gas station of all places in Stone Mountain beautiful space and lovely owner. Meet Chauncy at @chauncyskitchen the food was delectable and the service was amazing. The price point for the portions of food was refreshing especially if you eat out in Atlanta you know how we get hit over the head. He explained everything we ate very well a lot of things have vegan options and chauncy was very clear on us having options! He does not cook with salt only salt water and imports his seasonings and makes them himself. The owner was very well versed and you can tell he is passionate about his food and his buisness which was refreshing. We met the bartender Matt for a short period of time but definitely a vibe I rate this a 10/10 will be back again please check him out !!!!

The grilled snapper with cassava leaves sauce and white rice was absolutely divine! The fish was grilled to perfection flaky, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The cassava leaves sauce added a rich, authentic touch that brought the whole dish together, and the white rice was the perfect complement. You can truly taste the love and tradition in every bite. Chef Chauncy is a culinary artist! His passion for West African flavors shines through in every dish. You can tell he puts his heart into the food this meal was unforgettable. If you’re looking for a meal that feels both comforting and gourmet, this is it. Highly recommend!

I got the seafood pepper soup and it was one of the best dishes I’ve tasted! The soup was so flavorful and they were not shy with the seafood. Chauncy and the other cooks made everything on the spot and from scratch, so everything was freshly made. The portion sizes were great and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
