Social Profile:

Sister’s Saloon is one of Saint Germain’s oldest establishments, offering some of the best food and drinks around! This building began life as the Peacock Lodge in 1922! The owner, Cherie “Cher Bear” Anderson is a Northwoods Native. She grew up in the Sayner/St Germain area. The reason the business is called “Sister’s Saloon” is that originally she and one of her sisters had purchased the bar together. However after four years, Cher Bear bought that sister out and has continued as the sole owner and operator. (NO!!! – never at any point in time was this bar ever called “Two Sisters Saloon” -LOL) The Kitchen is leased and operated by Chef Evan Fanning & Family. Chef Even is a culinary trained chef!

The food is amazing. I had the pork cheeks over a celery puree, and my wife had the smoked salmon salad. This is above and beyond elevated bar food. I haven’t found anything in the area that can compare to Chef Evan’s food.

Cozy place with a view of the water. My best description is a high-class dive bar. I will come back to try more of the menu!

Stopped for lunch. Great menu with a variety of food. 3 soup options! Opted for pizza and curds. Delicious. Highly recommended. Many snowmobiles were stopping. Easy access to the trails.

The bar gets a 5-star rating as well as the restaurant. The bartender was fun and engaging (she is one of the two daughters of the owner), we tried and enjoyed the deep fried corn nuggets as an app, and oh my goodness what a fantastic modern day jukebox. Our dinner somehow managed to top the fun experience in the bar. The chef-prepared food was outstanding. The breading on the walleye was different than most other supper clubs – delicate and light yet pan-seared to a nice crunch. My dinner companions said that their pork shank and frogs legs were delicious as well. Can’t wait to return.

We were there for a Friday fish fry and had the pan fried perch. I think it was sitting in a warmer for several hours before serving it to us since it was luke warm, dry, and no flavor. Would not recommend. Not sure we will stop there again.

HOT…HOT,,,HOT!
Our food is amazing! My cream of mushroom soup is homemade and came piping hot! (Not spicy)
Then came the incredible special, frog legs and frys, again, so hot! Huge legs, too!
The Ruben Sandwich is made with homemade thick cut pieces of meat and all the potato/noodle/slaw salads, too. Nothing short of 6 starts… with the bartending and food service. We will definitely add this stop to our forever list.

Fantastic surprise! There is an artistic chef working here. We were so impressed with the scallops with candied pork belly, pureed celery and parmesan crisps. The pork shank is fantastic, risotto outstanding! The grilled Ribeye with candied bacon fingerling potatoes and corn puree ..wow. The dressing is homemade and so good! Outstanding Stuffed Green Pepper soup. Our only regret was not having enough space for chocolate cheesecake. Our server was awesome! We are truly impressed and will tell everyone.

Delicious meal! Both the Walleye and Scallops were prepared beautifully. Cheese curds appetizer was brought with our entrees, which was the only negative of the evening. Highly recommend!

The perfect place to dine while ‘Up North’. The bar was perfect and the food was delicious. We had cheese curds, pizza and my daughter had a cheese quesadilla. The old fashioned I had was great. The service was wonderful and the food was served hot. The next time we come back we would like to try one of their daily specials. We will definitely be back!

We stopped in during the Labor Day weekend rush. As busy as it gets and we still got noticed and served our drinks right away. Tara and Misty are awesome at what they do!! Will definitely be coming here more often.
