If you want true, homemade Midwestern comfort food, head to the Elm Street Cafe. I had a streaming bowl of chicken and noodles, which was made with homemade noodles and large pieces of shredded chicken. Very flavorful. The side was Cole slaw, which was slightly heavy on the mayo but had a great taste. My brother ordered the catfish and it arrived crispy and steamy hot and he said it was very good. The entrees with two sides was $12.95. Service was delightful. Definitely will go again.

There is definitely a serial killer working in the kitchen my toast was cut vertically but one of the pieces of toast was horizontal so my toast was cut down the middle in both directions and not diagonal so I had one piece of Canadian toast and one piece of serial killer toast

Wll I would like to say it was great but unfortunately thats not the case as it usually is i ordered the 16 ounce ribeye steak at med rare it looked like a 8 Oz at most and when I cut in to it it looked like it had been sitting in a refrigerator for 3 weeks uncovered it was supposed to have a warm red Center as med rare dose but instead it was dark brown it looked cooked right i was only able to eat 2 bits before I decided it was to bad to eat and yep I got home and was stuck in The restroom so eat at your own risk

Stopped in for lunch on the spoon river drive. Took a bit for food to arrive. But food came out hot. Chicken and noodles were good and the burger and fries were good. Large portions.

Seriously so impressed! All of this food cost $15!!! The taste, the service and the speed were all outstanding! We just had a newborn and didn’t have time to make a meal this morning after being so exhausted. My fiancé called this order in and it was ready in under 20 minutes when he went to pick it up! We highly recommend Elm Street Cafe and thank them for the amazing breakfast!!! Hats off to the chef!

Tried for the first time and was looked at but not greeted by three different waitresses. Ended up leaving after no one approached us.

Normally we love this place, today though wow. Took some out of state friends there today at 10 am, took them 15 minutes to get to us. After ordering took them until 11:18 am to bring the food. We watched it sit in the window for over 10 minutes and had to stop one of the other waitresses to get it. Only seen ours twice. We watched people who got there after us be served first, we had to send at least one plate back for being made wrong, when it was returned it was colder then the first time around. Unsure what happened today, but the food was barely edible, the service was not there and to be excited to share this place with friends and it being worse then a Denny’s after last call is just sad.
