Had been wanting to try this place for quite a while, in particular because reviews mentioned that nearly their entire menu can be made gluten free, but was particularly surprised to see that their fried food is also gluten free. I am also dairy free, so am generally not too excited/optimistic when reading things like that as the batters used for frying tend to have dairy in them. I didn’t see anything in the menu or the reviews mentioning whether the fried food is dairy free. When we arrived I asked the waiter if the fish and chips contained dairy and he checked with the kitchen who informed him that they do not–yay! (I did not verify whether the batter for the other fried items was dairy free). I went ahead and ordered the fish and chips. When it came out, it came out with ketchup rather than the tarter sauce or aioli that I expected. When I asked the server, he mentioned that this was because the sauces had dairy so he requested that it not be put on the plate. I was very impressed by his thoughtfulness. The fried fish was good, although it was missing that sauce to take it to the next level. My partner ordered the tortellini and he loved it. Overall, the experience was very positive, in particular as relates to my food restrictions, and although pricey, we would likely come again.

The pasta I received was good, however was supposed to be spicy and had no spice at all. I ordered the fig and whipped ricotta salad as well and it came with no dressing and no ricotta. Pretty disappointing considering how much both were. These were to go orders. Tried calling, no answer and mailbox was full.

I had a group of 8 celebrating a birthday and the staff was BEYOND accommodating. I called in the afternoon to ensure our group could be seated together and the woman I spoke with was so helpful in making sure our preferred seating arrangement would work. For the dinner Brett was our server and he was absolutely delightful from start to finish. The bar tender was great and had awesome suggestions for our celebration. Food was really tasty and the drinks were super good. We really had a great evening. Excellent experience.

One word: DECEIVING! It looks like a cute little restaurant tucked away in a bustling part of Clayton. A nice patio area outside with an equally quaint inside. The decorations and lighting are great for a date night, which happened to be exactly the occasion I went there for.

Met a couple friends for drinks and ended up having dinner as well! Drink specials were mixed great, food was amazing. We shared the Charcuterie Board, Mac & Cheese and Ravioli. Both pasta dishes were flavorful and filling!

Might have stumbled on to my favorite brunch spot for a Saturday. Great menu of options and fantastic eggs Benedict, beignets and green salad plus… the wait staff was funny, kind and attentive. And the decor is interesting. Will be back for sure.

I love a charming restaurant with a beautiful interior and fun atmosphere. This bustling restaurant in downtown Clayton checks all the boxes and features a gluten free menu with many delicious options. The charming host greeted us as soon as we walked in and we chose to sit at the bar on a busy Monday night. The solo bartender gave us good service once she was able to get to us. We enjoyed the fig and ricotta salad and the Diablo shrimp pasta, and started with the house made potato chips with classic St Louis dipping sauces. All were absolutely spot on and to split. The wine offerings were middle of the road, but varied. We were disappointed that the patio was order inside and serve yourself, otherwise it was a great evening.

Yesterday was my first time visiting Louie’s. My friend and I went for happy hour. I love the ambience. It was so nice and elegant in the inside. The shrimp tacos I ordered were really good and the service was great. I will definitely be back.

I visited Louie’s with a group of my friends and enjoyed the experience immensely! The food and atmosphere were fantastic (I had the five cheese tortellini- so good), but what stood out was the efficiency and kindness of the team working that evening. We were seated almost immediately, offered an impressive wine list with insightful suggestions, and served quickly — which was important to us because we were planning to catch a movie directly after dinner. Our server Alejandro was extremely attentive and helpful throughout the experience.
