I had one of their “specials,” cashew chicken. Only three small chunks of chicken and the cashews were almost non-existent, small and tasteless. Everything except the rice was coated in a shiny “sauce” with no taste. I don’t recall exactly what my husband had, but he was disappointed with his meal. The rice on both plates was a bit dry. The tea was good. The carpets are filthy and worn in the walking path areas; they are in desperate need of replacement. The waitress was pleasant, but she disappeared after leaving the tab on our table. We had to hunt her down to pay. We won’t return.

Last night we tried the great wall for the first time. We ordered for pick up and got a flat tire so we’re delayed getting there from seaside. The owner was so kind and was sincerely concerned about us, not that we were not there to pick up the food. So naturally our food sat under a heating lamp far longer then their chef would want I’m sure, and by the time we got back to seaside and are it, it was still fantastic. We found our new Chinese spot, and it’s always easy to support good people and great people and great food sums up our experience perfectly

The Great Wall Restaurant is a solid choice for tasty, comforting food. The dishes are flavorful, freshly made, and served in generous portions. The service is friendly and efficient, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place for a casual meal you can always count on.

Look – I love to have combo options (I got subgum chicken and bbq pork with hot and sour soup. Hubbs had general Tso chicken. Food good. But no fortune cookie? C’mon, man. I need a little kernel of wisdom when I’m on the road.

The restaurant was clean, service was prompt and attentive. We were seated next to the kitchen which was off putting (even though there was plenty of tables). The soup was good our table tried the egg flower, and hot sour, both were very good. The appetizers were good BBQ pork was good the shrimp however was a bit underdone and doughy and greasy. egg roll was okay .The chow mein had regular noodles which wasn’t a hit with our party. It tasted pretty bland. Sweet and sour pork was good. The pork fried rice was just rice and BBQ pork. Prices were reasonable and servings were plenty. We would go again, but maybe try some different options.

We were so impressed with how fresh and delicious the food was AND how quick it came out to our table after we’d ordered. I ordered the cashew chicken, fried shrimp and sweet and sour chicken combination. It was crazy delicious. Really loved every bite ( which I could not finish as huge portions, so took a doggy bag and had a second meal at home) and will definitely be back!!

This was our first visit to this restaurant and it wasn’t as bad as a few others are posting but they could use a few improvements with the food. I ordered the #1 combo and the sweet and sour sauce was to sweet for me. Tasted much like flavored sugar and took away the flavor from the fried pork which was good. The pork fried rice had flavor but it could of used more. Maybe add a few veggies to it? I did not think the portions were huge in fact I thought it was average as you can see in the picture I took of the to-go container. We walked in to place our order and the girl that took our order was polite. It’s an OK Chinese Restaurant.

Well I had very high.hopes for a great Chineese lunch. From outward apperances i really got my hopes up.. the decor was traditional chineese restutant, with woodcarvings and reliefs.. We found the menu a little odd. And it was missing some of our favorite dishes. The waitress was great and very attentive. I started my meal with hot and sour soup. It had good flavor but was not hot. I ordered a “build your own combo plate” consisting of sweet and sour chicken, chicken chow mein, and an eggroll.. the Wife ordered pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and Fried almond chicken.
The sweet and sour was the normal fare. The eggroll was either over cooked or reheated, as it was very dry. The winner was the chow mein. It had good flavor and the veggies still had a good crunch to them. My wifes food was a bit odd. The rice was uninspired. It seemed little more thst rice with soy sauce. The most perplexing thing was the almond chicken.. it usually has a white gravey on it.. thus came with a brown gravey that was not a chiken base.. it tasted like beef. It drowned out any almomd flavor. The price of the meal was very low. But I had high hopes.
